I Want You, Humiliation, and a Sense of Normalcy
Lee Wilson commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in I Want You, Humiliation, and a Sense of Normalcy
I guess if Tony is forthcoming with the whole story, yeah, it could turn out bad for Mr. Rose. More on Tony and maybe his dad at some point in the future. Armstrong. If I were him, I'd say no. Patience, young Padawan. No details, but I will say by the rules, not bogus. Now whether or not the rules are bogus, well...🤐 -

I tried to make it appear like he was almost masking his homophobia. From your comment, I think I succeeded. -
I Want You, Humiliation, and a Sense of Normalcy

Saturday - From the viewpoint of Michael Armstrong Sr. Mr. Armstrong is frustrated. Every single recruiting office he can locate is closed on weekends. How the hell are working parents supposed to banish their hooligan kids to the military if they're only open weekdays? I can't trust Mike to go alone during the week. His mother doesn't agree with me, so she won't take him. I guess Mike gets to stay here and enjoy whatever punishment I can dole out. Who knows? Maybe that will be better for t- 7 comments

Which Jeremy Wakes up on Saturday?

I believe chapter 8 will cut Derek a little slack. -

Glad you’re liking it. I honestly can’t say where the inspiration came from. Perhaps I had a dream about the long ago friends that were on the local rescue squad. And my subconscious took care of the rest. I think the title is quite fitting. I’m really rocking on Derek. -
Nope. He was there: Cassidy Parker turned toward the Arriens to attempt to shoot at least one of them but was cut down before he was able to aim, however he did get a shot off. Regarding the watch. If they were reasonably smart, they wouldn't be criminals. Maybe just lazy.

The bad guys in my stories never fare well, do they? Hmm, maybe the next story, I have to make the bad guys win.

Sunday June 11 What did the Chief say? Come to One Police something? No. He's sending a car. Huh? "Sorry, Jeremy, I missed that." "I said calm down. Don't get all upset about what may or may not have happened." "No. I was trying to remember what the Chief said. I kind of lost focus after he said my dad was abducted and maybe mom and Frank too." "I know you've been worried about me. I'm coming back, so you have to believe you're in a 'good things are happening' streak rig

Tuesday - Lunch Time Steve Lancer walked up to our table a little hesitantly. "It's OK, Steve. We were serious yesterday. Sit down, join the convo." "Thanks. Hi all. What are you talking about?" "Lance was bitching about Mrs. Landsdowne." "Like three weeks into school and she already assigns this huge project." "Pick an event in American History, describe it in your own words, and explain what could have been done to prevent it." "You have her too, Steve?"

I couldn’t help but think while reading the comments whether or not I was the only one who heard “it’s complicated” in Jim Caviezel‘s voice, a la ‘The Count of Monte Cristo.’ Glad to see Lyssa in on the road to recovery.

Even before this comment I was figuring we just witnessed the calm before the storm. A Nick, as in more than one Dom-a-nick

Which Jeremy Wakes up on Saturday?

I've always used the two terms interchangeably. Perhaps incorrect on my part, but I'm pretty sure I've encountered additional places where that is true. -
Which Jeremy Wakes up on Saturday?

1. I thought that was sufficiently explained here: Back at the Arriens' household, Captain Alex Arriens is preparing to leave for the Marlins game, where he's meeting another group of police officers for a well-deserved afternoon out. "Have a good time Alex. Frank and I will be watching. Maybe you'll get on TV." "I've been on TV enough lately. But now that Springs is in custody, I'd rather avoid the limelight. See you later, Cindy. I love you." 2. Yeah, you got me there. Didn't consider that. 3. Initially, Jeremy didn't even remember his boss. In this chapter, when he finally does, we're not there when he discovers it. I guess I missed an opportunity there as well. I've mentioned it elsewhere, but I'm not really good at expressing my own emotions. Probably why it translates to the characters. -
Saturday June 10 It was so hard to crawl out of bed this morning. Four days of barely being Jeremy's friend is starting to get to me. I know Brenda was right last night. I should get on the 'it'll be OK' team, it's just so difficult. First, he loses most of his memory. Then he loses the rest of it. Finally, he reaches out to me because he has no other choice. And how do you forget you're gay? I guess when you forget everything else, it just comes along for the ride. He's lucky he's in the h

I know what you mean. You get so into some of them, they seem almost real to you. There are actually a few in finished stories, I kind of miss and am considering revisiting.

Like a Lost Puppy, and Figuring Things Out
Lee Wilson commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Like a Lost Puppy, and Figuring Things Out
Sometimes, no matter how close people are/were, they still move apart. Life sometimes keeps them apart. Maybe Brenda was away on vacation. That, and we’re not really talking small town. From Wikipedia: Davie is a town in Broward County, Florida, United States, approximately 24 miles (39 km) north of Miami. The town's population was 110,320 at the 2020 census I chose it because of a personal connection. The Danny Joe Brown link was a pleasant (sort of) bonus. RIP DJB. -
I haven’t commented much, being a much later reader, but I echo all of the above. Great chapter. My only question is what’s wrong with the 18 people (at this point) who only selected ‘Like’? J/K.

Four Gay Boys at a Water Park - What Could Go Wrong?
Lee Wilson commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Four Gay Boys at a Water Park - What Could Go Wrong?
I can actually see Mark totally freak out if he jumps the fence. Might be an interesting scene. I have something better planned for the remaining ‘troglodytes’ than the slap on the wrist and paying restitution that would be the likely result of being caught on camera. I think you know by now my reputation on the treatment of homophobes. I believe I’ve let them get away with too much already. Two of their number have already made amends. Not gonna happen for the final two. -

Four Gay Boys at a Water Park - What Could Go Wrong?
Lee Wilson posted new chapter in My Friend and Protector
Wednesday We all agreed the following Saturday would be a good time to hit the water park. Mid-September can still be pretty warm. After discussing it a little bit, we decided to see if Karl and Mark would want to come too. With no football practice on Wednesdays, that was the day Karl usually ate lunch with us, rather than his football buddies. My idea, so I asked. "So, Karl, Mark, if you're OK spending the day half naked with a bunch of gay boys, we were talking about going to Advent- 6 comments

Harlon better hope his mother is even still alive when he calls. IMO, not the ideal time to go on an ‘adventure.’ Interesting story, though.

Someone said in a comment of last week’s entries, the authors are tugging at the heart strings. Like Dan said above, tears early on, sobs at the end. I’m not a very good person at visualizing what I’m reading. Far from the case here. Seeing Robert reach out for Ed’s hand, sitting together in a coffee shop. I felt like I was there. A wonderful job on a very touching story. It seems a fairly common thread to this anthology is a seeming bond between faith and tragedy. But isn’t that what usually tests our faith?
