  1. I find it extremely difficult to pass up bad puns. Especially Star Trek related ones.
  2. Maybe, maybe not. Worf agrees. He’s a Klingon, for those that don’t know.
  3. Wow. A lot here @Clancy59. I really can tell that this chapter made the impact I hoped it would. One heart isn’t enough. Again, no comment on the speculation. Call the Jane Doe point either a mistake on my part or on the EMT’s. I included it to add to Dylan’s discomfort. Correct, also on the hearing details. Lacy imagined that. Also correct on Dominic being the real, or most impacted victim. Nice observation about him being intelligent. That is something I was going to make patently obvious in the future. Also spot on about the doctor and answering service. My intent there was the doctor left in a hurry and may not have done a good job informing all who needed the info about coverage. If it was in-hours, his direct staff would have been able to tell Dylan who was covering. The money is real. The condo, as @weinerdog queried? Well, that’s another wait and see.
  4. Exactly on the court point. Lacy has imagined all that. Dylan is a simple man, intelligent but not tremendously so; he takes a lot at face value. Also, he had to be shook up after the tirade and didn’t even know what to think. I’ll not comment on the speculation. What good is a cliffhanger if it gets ruined before the next chapter?
  5. Life throws us all a curve occasionally. Sometimes the ball hits us, sometimes it’s just a swing and a miss. We’ll see which it is for D&D You’ll find out in about three days.
  6. There was no more discussion about Herb, either that night or anytime afterward. And that night, and the next two nights, there was no discussion at all between Lacy and Dylan. Tuesday I looked for Herb at bowling but he wasn't there. His team was using a sub. I started to wonder if he quit because he didn't want to have to deal with me, or he was just sick. I'd find that out two weeks later. I'd find out something a lot different before then. Friday Lacy came home from work
  7. I didn’t think of life insurance. Thanks.
  8. Judge Ridge may very well make another appearance. They’ll both gladly sacrifice an hour or two of sleep a day to make that happen. Ah, youth.
  9. Yeah, they needed a break, well, another break. Thanks, dezgo.com is my AI friend.
  10. True on point one, but hopefully he'll see less of it. Could be he already has the nutso gene. I figured it was about time the boys had a run of good luck.
  11. Saturday July 29 We'll tag along in Derek's mind now for the next little while. Damn, there are a lot of things to sign when buying a condo. I guess it's the same for a house. No wonder people don't do it more often than they have to. But we started early, so by 10 AM Jeremy and I were homeowners. I understand it went smoother because we weren't getting financing. We thanked the realtor and lawyer and headed over to our new home. We'll be taking Adam's bedroom set for now for his room,
  12. Is there a booooo emoji? Throuple! Whatever happened to menage a trois?
  13. Honesty can be brutal sometimes though. A little spoiler for chapter 9 I suppose.
  14. Cool. I was figuring on a small company, highly profitable, $40 million or so overall sale price. I honestly don't know. I think the last time I bowled when around 2005 in Pennsylvania. Pro bowlers need to learn somewhere, I guess.
  15. Mine too. I guess sometimes we write what we feel.
  16. Tuesday It's my first night out after deciding with Lacy we'd each take one. I joined a bowling league. They were partway through the summer season, but I got lucky, one team had someone who had to drop out for health reasons. I would have been a floating substitute otherwise, but this way I would be on the same team the rest of the summer. It's a four-man league, they let me lead off tonight because I had to establish my average. In the past I was the closer. I wasn't sure I'd bowl my earl
  17. Good thing this is fiction. 😀 But if you were given a choice, do one or die, which would it be? J/K.

    Chapter 39 S1

Raptors, huh? Like maybe they could transition into velociraptors. Since they’re doing birds, how about a pterodactyl? They could start a panic. Or better yet, get jobs in the Jurassic Park franchise. OK, enough silliness. Great chapter. Next one, don’t let them transition back from an owl when their head is pointed behind them. Ouch. There are probably other animals that could have dangerous consequences based on their physical positioning. I’d love having the ability, but I’d be scared out of my wits that I’d transition back and do myself permanent damage.
  19. Maybe not so well paying.
  20. Sorry you had to go through that. Although, minor spoiler, she has a reasonable excuse.
  21. Yeah, not quite at the adoption level @BoyLove mentioned, but close. Adam is 4. He wouldn’t even understand gay. Point one: I think I’m going to have fun writing. Point 2: Can’t you just see them squirm having to visit with two married gay men? I’m not sure I’m going to write that one though. Well, he is the unemployed one. Not your best prediction. 😇
  22. Friday July 7 We'll start out with Derek. I call captain Fellows to talk about yesterday's callout. I have every intention of quitting. My cousin Adam made it through the night, and I've spent most of the day at the hospital with him. Granted, he doesn't know I'm here, he's still unconscious, but it makes me feel better. I step into a waiting room to make my call. "Hello Derek. How are you holding up?" "Not well at all Cap. I'm at the hospital with my cousin/nephew. He's hang
  23. Relapse is always possible, haven't planned that far ahead yet. And no buns will be expected.
  24. It's not an uncommon belief that gay men prey on children. Plus, Lacy had attitude assistance from the tumor. No siblings are planned. We'll assume some kind of birth control was used.
