Back in Chapter 8 Nathan disclosed that his father died two years ago. Yes @Summerabbacat, Bert's arrival has the potential to "encourage" Martin to be more open about himself.

Martin talked to Nathan about being discharged. Nathan was worried about leaving hospital, but Martin reassured him that he would stay with him in Nathan's apartment and look after him there. Martin let Nathan's questions about, his not able to stay in Adelaide because he wasn't being paid and how he should go back to work, all go through to the keeper. Martin spent his last night in the hotel feeling very lonely while looking forward to being with Nathan, even though it would involve

Very true @Flip-Flop, Martin has to start being open with Nathan, but he is still (unnecessarily) unsure about Nathan's feelings for him. Martin's wealth presents a couple of problems. It may calm Nathan worries or it could push Nathan away.

Martin has to be more open with Nathan otherwise it is likely to catch up with him. The ex-wived live in different states so a hoped for cat fight is unlikely.

Now really @Flip-Flop, would I set you up for a bit of drama? Again, Carol is surprisingly supportive of Nathan and Martin's relationship, even if she can't use the 'G' word. Martin does have to start revealing more about himself, especially to Nathan. There are signs that he may be forced to reveal more. Nathan went to help a woman being stabbed and hours later wakes up in hospital after serious surgery and discovers he is being called a hero on national news. No reason to be shocked. You are right @Flip-Flop there is more to Nathan than we have learned so far.

There is so much here @Summerabbacat, starting with "dog fight". I thought it would more likely be a "cat fight". Natasha has gone quiet but remains vicious. Carol is surprise, especially for Nathan, but not quite 'Thoroughly Modern Milly'.

There is reference telling Nathan that they were finding someone to fill in for him at the medical centre. You're right @VBlew, there's a lot that Martin needs to ask Nathan, as well as what he needs to tell Nathan

As promised, Colin was waiting for Martin when he walked through the air bridge from the plane. He was able to tell Martin the hospital had issued a bulletin saying that both victims were out of surgery and in ICU. The condition of both was still described as critical. The media was now calling Nathan a hero. As they pulled out of the airport carpark, Colin suggested that he take Martin straight to the hospital and later drop his bags at the hotel. There is just so much to unpick here regarding old feelings, knowledge, motives, relationships, grief, individual responses, and available support to predict how this will go. More needs to be revealed and I'm looking forward to that happening.

Nathan's ex-wife does enter the story so you will be able to rate both ex-wives against a nasty bitch scale. We can assume the two guys were friends of Ben and Justin from the park.
