Yes @Summerabbacat that was a feature of the early Holdens and what I learnt to drive on. It was regarded at the time as "modern" and made it easier for a third passenger to share the front bench seat. A side benefit was that it made it easier for other things on the front bench seat.

intuition - Word of the Day - Fri Jul 31, 2026
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
My intuition says "don't comment" but I can't help myself. "from the Latin verb intueri (meaning "to look at, gaze at, or consider")" sounds to me like navel gazing. -
For the record, the Churchill quote (1939) was a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. I'm only adding this because I think that so far this also applies to Casey. Floral board shorts don't sound very Thompson family. Who are the guys in the group he has been seen with? Random thug friends or family/cousins? What's with, I do like you (. . .) folks around here think I’m trouble, so they would probably give you shit if we hung out. Is Casey wanting to protect Levi or himself? And then this; So what if your dad’s a fag . . .Nobody really cares. Not in this town. Trust me. That doesn't sound like any Thompson we've met before. How is it that Casey knows so little about the rules regarding L plates? At this stage I'm keeping an open mind. For those who know Sydney, my first driving lesson was through a massive traffic jam at the intersection of Moore Park road and Anzac Parade. My second lesson through Kings Cross was a breeze by comparison.

All true. Martin said something similar back in Chapter 1. Psychologists and therapists need to be aware of when they need help with their personal problems and seek that help. I think their personal experience and the advice of those close to them will make Martin and Nathan better sexuality therapists.
-
Martin and Nathan have both been struggling with how to explain their love to other people, especially as they didn't see the common labels as fitting them. Now they are moving ahead sexually and more comfortable with their sexuality.
-
In Nathan's defense @Summerabbacat, he has grown up in a tradition of vaginal fucking without any consideration of butt fucking, but you did give him due credit for being a fast learner. Rick doesn't understand celebrating without champagne and can't pass up an opportunity to celebrate. He is aligned with Patsy and Edina (Eddie). If a champagne breakfast can be a thing, why not a champagne brunch?

Nathan watched from their bed as Martin walked naked from the bathroom and slipped in next to him. Nathan's nursing background was on alert. He was concerned. "Are you OK? Are you feeling sick?" Martin was puzzled. "No! I'm fine why are you asking?" "Well, you were a long time in the bathroom. I was worried you might be feeling sick." "I love your concern for me. No, I'm fine. Prepping just took longer than I expected." "Prepping? Are you planning what I think you're pla

Chapter 23 - Getting Ready
Paladin commented on Paladin's story chapter in Chapter 23 - Getting Ready
The dance floor over the pool won't be a problem but it will have an unanticipated outcome that will take a while to surface. Noah has not been forgotten. -

I think Maria's response "Oh my God, dad you actually are partners" suggests that she had her suspicions but confirmation was at this meeting. And yes, Benjamin and Justin are discrete. They learnt the need the hard way. Rick is consistently party fun loving. -

Yes, he is a wonderful character in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series which has been described as a trilogy in five books. A wonderful creation by Douglas Adams, who unfortunately did too young. -
Chapter 23 - Getting Ready

So far Martin and Nathan have been coming out accidentally rather than in any planned way. They are still two men who have grown up seeing themselves as straight and being seen as straight by everyone they know. They have to face the reality of having to publicly describe their relationship. So far every accidental outing has been received positively. Should be a good sign. -

Yes Butch is a lovable character but is peripheral in the story. Justin, Martin and Simon are possessive and protective of their partners. -
conviction - Word of the Day - Wed Jul 22, 2026
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
Yeah. I was holding onto a conviction concerning the wrong conviction -
Benjamin, Justin and the dads had finished breakfast and were cleaning up when Maria, Lachlan and Lachlan's father, Shane, entered the back door to a round of verbal welcomes and familial hugs. Justin and Benjamin joined Maria and Lachlan as they headed out onto the patio to start talking about their party. Martin asked Shane if he'd like a coffee. "Thanks, that would be great Martin. I just thought I'd use this opportunity to scope your place for security. That is if you are stil

Sometimes that conviction is overturned. -
Without any doubt.

So much sexy ticklish fun. I wonder if wings are ticklish, especially where they are attached to the back? Just asking for a friend.

Yes it is now following changes to the marriage act in 2017. It's worth remembering that same sex marriage was not illegal in Australia up until 2004 when the then government changed the existing 1961 marriage act. Up until 2004 marriage was defined as being between two people. The change in 2004 defined marriage as being between a man and a woman.
