  1. It was almost twelve by the time I made it to the hospital, where I found Raffa's family, his parents and Leandro, all waiting. Leandro and I bumped fists like old friends, while I received hugs from both of Raffa's parents. 'Has there been any more news?' I asked, half hopeful. 'Nothing yet,' Antonio replied. 'They've told us that they have him strapped into some sort of brace, to help minimise the chances of him moving and further damaging his spine, but apart from that everythi
  2. Thank you!
  3. It's the waiting that gets to you. Endless hours of worry. Endless hours of not knowing. And even when they say things might be straight forward, there's always that chance of something else going wrong. And what if something does go wrong? How would I be able to live with myself? How would I be able to live without my newfound soulmate; the one person in this world whose very being now consumes my every thought? When it was suggested that I should maybe go home and get some rest I sho
  4. I thought I was dreaming. In fact, I thought it was a nightmare. But then lights and sounds began to creep back into my consciousness, turning my nightmare into reality, and I found myself right in the middle of a scene from which I thought I had just escaped. From where I sat on a public bench on the footpath, I looked out at a street bathed in the blue and red flashing lights of several police cars, while darkness was gradually falling. There were also several police officers standing aro
  5. Number 2, baby! How good is that? 😉 And the good old 'cliffie', hey! Got to keep them wanting more! 😉 I'll let readers think what they want about Mike ... after they read the next chapter. Let's just say that he may, or may not, have been monitoring the situation... 😀
  6. We stood on the corner watching Animal speed away, neither of us really knowing what to do or say. I glanced across at Raffa; his mouth was open and his face had turned a decidedly pale shade. I think we were both in some kind of state of shock. Sensing that someone had stopped beside me, I turned to see a middle-aged woman looking at me with what could only be described as curiosity. 'Are you alright, young man?' she asked. 'You look like you've seen a ghost or something.' 'Huh?
  7. No problem. I really hope you like it! There's also a follow up, titled 'The Brink', which is equally serious!
  8. I hope this works ... https://www.stan.com.au/watch/invisible-boys
  9. Oh ... and guys, if you have Stan you MUST look for a new Aussie series called Invisible Boys!!! The book was one that left me shaking when I read it a couple of years ago and I watched the first two episodes last night ... intense and brilliant ... a must see!
  10. Phone was playing up! LOL What I was going to say was that there is a description of Animal in Ch 3 ... 5 feet six, muscular, nipples showing through his tight t-shirt, definite bulge, even sexy looking. So Angry A isn't far off really ... though I don't really rate him as being all that sexy! haha
  11. Almost certainly!
  12. Our future flashed before my eyes as I stood there watching events unfold. With my hands at the side of my head I yelled, 'Noooooo,' into the warm, clear morning. Someone else close by screamed and there were other cries of anguish as we all had visions of a devastating outcome. But then, what seemed like a miracle took place. Suddenly the brake lights on his bike came on and Raffa skewed his body and the machine sideways. His right foot dropped to the concrete ramp while his hands still gr
  13. Just slowly turning the screws, @Ivor Slipper
  14. All will be revealed soon enough!
  15. And the action only hots up from here @weinerdog
  16. It was almost lunch time when I arrived home, after first saying goodbye to Raffa and promising to see him Monday morning. As I climbed out of my car I could hear the sound of the lawn mower running out back, so I headed that way, to be greeted by the sight of my family, along with Uncle Bryan. Olly was the one pushing the mower, which was a first, while Bryan was offering him advice, with a beer in hand. Mum and dad were sitting at our picnic table in the shade of the house with drinks in
  17. Hmmmm... can't really say I preferred one over the other @Summerabbacat. At the time there was just so much great music about. It's only now, looking back though, that we realise just HOW great!
  18. Thank you @Summerabbacat. One day we'll get there!
  19. The remainder of the weekend flew by far too quickly. On the Saturday night, at Raffa’s suggestion, we ended up going ten-pin bowling. He said he wanted to see how much style I had, which was going to be a challenge considering that I hadn't actually been bowling since I had won that last trophy. I called Hoppy and asked if he and Nathan wanted to join us and they jumped at the chance, so we arranged to meet at the bowling alley that evening. My parents had arranged for Robbie and Meag
  20. Let's just say that Chase wouldn't say no to finding out if Grayson isn't the only one in the family with something worth getting his hands on!
  21. We took our time with our breakfast, watching the world go by as we did so. The Saturday morning shopping traffic began to gradually build as we ate and spent time discussing everything that had happened in recent weeks with Bryan, including the assault and its aftermath, and all the issues with work and with what my father was going through. There was a lot of ground to cover, and Bryan wanted to know absolutely everything that was going on, so we didn't hold back. I even shared with him o
  22. Spot on @Al Norris on all fronts. I know that some have said it's all happening too fast ... I think even Gray said that at one point ... but one can never know just when love might strike! As Raffa's mother will say in a later chapter, 'We knew from the time we first met Grayson that you were meant to be together' (or something like that!) 😉 And as for Animal, sadly we haven't seen the last of him yet ☹️ MP
  23. When I woke on Saturday morning I found myself disoriented for a few moments, after waking up for the first time in a bed that wasn't my own. It didn't take me long before I realised that I was at Raffa's place and that the snoring, beautiful, naked body beside me belonged to him. We had left Meaghan and Robbie's house a couple of hours after we had eaten. It had been an enjoyable night and Raffa had seemed to fit right in with my family, spending quite a bit of time talking to my father an
