@weinerdog next chapter is locked and loaded for Jan. 2nd. I'm sticking to my schedule of one every two days. As for the other story, I am still working on the next chapter for that one. It will be posted just as soon as it has been finished and edited! As for the movie idea . . . yes PLEASE! We'll have @Summerabbacat do the soundtrack!

@centexhairysub there are certain elements of this story that are factual (even autobiographcal) . . . and that is one of them. When I finished high school I moved away for my first job and this place where Gray works is modelled on that store (and others) that I worked in. There was a carpark on the roof and the hoons used to do this for fun on the weekends.

Thank you @Summerabbacat. Here's hoping it will be a great new year for all! As for Grayson's journey ... it is really only just beginning. Hold onto your cajones! 😋

@Steve Farner thank you kind sir!

After Bryan had left and the rest of us were walking to our vehicles, I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. A message had come through, so I pulled it out to check. <Who was that hot guy I saw you with just now? Details! LOL> It was from Hoppy. I hadn't noticed him anywhere, but he obviously saw us. <Just never you mind!> I texted back, as I chuckled to myself. 'Something funny?' my mother asked. 'Just a mate from work,' I replied. Mum raised her eyebrows.

It is yet to come!

For the record, it's Pamela! Just thought I had best clear that one up (took me a while to scroll through and find it though ... I couldn't even remember what I had called Grayson's mum!) hahaha! MP

On the way back to Meaghan and Robbie's house we chatted some more, but there was no further mention of what we had just spoken of. Our conversation reverted to more regular topics, like sport and work, which helped to cast aside that weight I had been carrying on my shoulders lately. When we pulled into the driveway, I felt like I was a different person to the one who had earlier left the house with Bryan, and while our chat had been uncomfortable in places, I was grateful that I'd had the

In 1981 (same year I got my licence) we couldn't get our "L's" until 16 and 9 months. Green P's didn't exist then, so once the 12 months on your Red P's was up, that was it, you went straight onto your full licence. Been trying to find out when Green P's came in, but no luck so far. I can see there were some rule changes made around 1999, so it may have been then. It kind of fits, I think. MP

In Oz we start out with L plates when learning to drive (usually at 16) and can only drive with a licensed driver with you in the car. Then when you pass your driving test at 17 (in most states) you can drive by yourself but have to display P plates as a you are considered to have a Provisional drivers licence. In my state you have red P plates for the first year, then green P plates for two more years. You are 'marked' for the first four years of your driving career! MP

Thank you for your forgiveness @Summerabbacat . . . and yes, Christmas Boxing Day were the reason . . . and the fact my home was invaded by hordes of people claiming to be relatives of mine. Thankfully the last of these left this morning, offering some reprieve, at least for a few days, before some of them will swing by again on the way home. Only managed to get my computer set up again today in my usual "office" (a.k.a. the dining room! haha), so now I can get back to work! MP

In a few short strides Bryan had jumped up onto the landing outside the back door and embraced my mother, saying, 'Sister! It has been far too long!' They laughed and kissed before he then turned to my father, offering his hand. 'Good to see you also, Richard. I hope that all has been well with you?' 'Errr . . . yes, thanks. You too,' my father stammered. 'To what do we owe the occasion?' At least the old man’s scowl was no longer showing. 'Why, for your daughter and son-in-l

'They need to know that they can't keep pulling this sort of shit,' Raffa said to me after dropping his hand back down onto his lap. 'I totally agree, but . . .' 'But what?' 'Well, it's a big step, that's all.' 'Yeah, I know.' We sat there for a while longer while outside the sky began to darken. As we were getting deeper into autumn, with the days growing shorter all the time, it wouldn't be long now before it would be dark before we even finished work of an afternoon.

Thank you @Summerabbacat. The next chapter will bring us up to speed on the next year in the lives of my boys ... at least it will when I manage to get it finished ... then after that we'll see where we go 😀

One of the many things you forget about when you live in small backwater towns is that there just aren’t the facilities and services available here that there are in the city, so we didn’t end up with the paramedics after all. There was an ambulance in the town, which was based at the hospital, it arrived about fifteen minutes later with one ambulance officer and a nurse from the hospital. They found me wild-eyed and fearful, cradling Charlie’s head in my lap on the bathroom floor and quick

@Philippe Thank you for sharing your tale. While we never made it quite as far in our relationship as you and your old lover did, there was someone I worked with who I would have liked to have had a more in depth relationship with, but in our case it was he who ended up with the girlfriend and child (he never married though). We still bump into each other every now and then and things are okay between us. We even fooled around a little after he split from the girlfriend (she was actually older than him) but didn't venture any further down the old path as he was conscious of the boy and how he might react. Maybe one day things might be better Thank you.

My Thursday at work dragged on, but I was pleased when I was finally able to sign off and head for my car. A couple of things had happened with Hoppy which, while they weren't serious, had gotten me thinking. Firstly, I gave in and brought Hoppy up to speed with some of the more intimate details of my motel room escapade last Friday night, only because he had been so inquisitive and kept drilling me for details. After seeing him rub his jeans a few times as I was telling my tale, however, I

@weinerdog there were two chapters that have been posted previously ... or they might have been posted as one ... I can't really remember, but one of my saved files was set up like that. It was just a simple little tale for the Christmas season. I am working on an additional chapter though. It'll probably post after Christmas day though ... just depending on how I go the next few days.

Thank you @Summerabbacat. This is one I started a few years ago. Just thought it would be worth sharing given the season and all! Another chapter to go, and I'm tinkering with a third at the moment. Not sure what might happen after that though. Anything is possible, I guess! lol

I always look forward to holidays for Christmas and New Year. Even if the people I love do tend to go over the top at times I still love the festivities, the gathering of family, the exchange of gifts, the whole shebang! There are also certain traditions that my family has always observed for the Christmas holidays and which I always look forward to. Things like spending some alone time on Christmas Eve with my best friend in the mountains west of town, just watching the lights of town twi

You never forget your first love. Nor do you forget the traditions you shared. Maybe that's all you need to bring you back together? Or is it?

I arrived home to an empty house but wishing that someone had been there to at least talk to. Even if it had been my father, even that would have been okay, just so long as I wasn't alone to wallow in my self-pity. I needed a distraction, pure and simple, so that in my mind I wasn't stuck going over the events of the day again and again and again. Was that too much to ask? I poured myself a soft drink from the refrigerator and sat at the kitchen table, then moments later my prayers were ans

The truth always comes out. Or so they say. The revelation that my mother's brother, Bryan, was actually gay came as a real surprise to me. As did the fact that it was my father who had forbidden the information being spoken of. Dad had always been an aloof and often cranky character, but I'd never thought of him as being such a bigot and homophobe. You think you know someone, eh? Maybe my mother was right. I know that just having her know the truth about me felt as if it had lifted a
