Chapter 16 ~ Citizen’s Arrest ~

Thank you kindly @Doha. Nothing like seeing someone get theirs. I could think of a few @Summerabbacat, and face down is particularly fitting. 🤣 -

Ah yes @Summerabbacat, ignorance abounds in that lot. Eeeeewww, a Dixie Mae sex tape—imagine the poor soul having to view that and their therapy bill after. -

A nod to @Summerabbacat for providing Dixie Mae's name and her little chapel backstory for us. The chuckle from the fellas about The Chapel of Love song by The Dixie Cups, which was edited by Coop, was all thanks to Summerabbacat's comedic contribution. -
Continued... “Whew, what a mouthful. Now was all that really necessary? What did you do, take a course in hate speech from Bigots Are Us U?” Bass shook his head in disgust, turned, and, with a tight smile, greeted, “Shir and Jake, good to see you both. To clarify and confirm, my guess is that neither of you invited this individual to your home. If I am correct, Jake, would you be so kind as to pull out your cellphone and record what is transpiring? And Shir, would you please open the outsid

Chapter 15 ~ ‘Breach of Peace’ ~
Vcs commented on Vcs's story chapter in Chapter 15 ~ ‘Breach of Peace’ ~
Wow @VBlew, talk about a hot seat! What a scary thought: how Daisy Mae and her daughter could turn on Reed if he proves to be one of the Two Spirits ilk. Whether they're related, is it possible, or are there just too many breeding low-lifes in their area? In reality, one, the other, or both could be true. As a friend and I often say, there should be one big island where they could all be dumped. Certainly it would be interesting to see how long before they'd turn on each other and discover who would be claimed as an outsider first. Hmmm, xenophobia at its most flexible. And all that leads to the famous quote from Martin Niemöller First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. -

That is one I know well @sandeman. It often takes so little to speak while at times there are risks. What can we gain, though, by standing mute? Not progress, that's for certain. "Inspirational" is a wonderful compliment, one which has made my day. Thank you 🤗 -

Hmmm, are Matt and his buddy a couple? Given who Reed is related to, the resulting fireworks could prove to be interesting @sandeman, assuming he's not a closet homophobe. I'm wondering just how many of the ill-educated, vastly ignorant ones like those two Salopes are in the area. Guns are terrifying; there are no two ways about it. If only determination alone could stop bullets. -

Dixie Mae aptly reminds me of the common Southern woman's belief, "The higher the hair, the closer to g-d." That and she apparently believes whatever good there is in her 'good book' will seep into her. A cherry picker indeed. I imagine her similar to TFB but a bit taller with one of those superior, disapproving expressions I so frequently saw coming up in a small town. "Brown-piped" was a new one on me too. Found it when researching slurs, and being she was not only talking about a gay man but also one of color, it seemed to fit. It really is astounding the things ignorant bigots come up with and think are clever. Yes, @Summerabbacat, to answer your question, Daisy Mae appears thus far to be an equal-opportunity bigot. People such as her leave me to wonder if they're aware that not only was Jesus a Jew, but he most certainly wasn't a lily-white American either. Funny thing, okay, not funny, but... Well, yeah, admittedly I did laugh when writing about three legs. Eeeww, what a horrific experience that'd been for a beautiful, innocent stallion. That'd be one heck of a therapy bill! Nope, no animals at the Two Spirits Horse Ranch are to be harmed. -

Guess we'll find out, @dboggs9700 , what tricks he has stored in that pack. Her bravado is a pathetic joke, leaving her to deserve whatever he has planned for her. Personally, I'd pay to see it. @Summerabbacat, I confess to having to Google Capsicum spray. I only know it as tear gas and can tell you that it is a painful experience. The anti-fungal cream and face mask have me rolling. I'm thinking a ball gag would be appropriate for the hag and handcuffs wouldn't be a bad option either. 🤣 -

Dixie Mae does add an extra little twist, especially with her and her daughter so much alike. Will Shayna show up too? Her mother already said she wouldn't allow her precious little angel to see any man from the ranch, so it'll be fun seeing how she reacts to Reed being there. Hide the matches, folks, because she's looking mighty combustible. As for Bass and Kidd, it's amazing the goodness of Two Spirits that shines through. So accepting; how wonderful it must feel to be embraced so easily. -
Frankly, I'm mystified that I Wish I Could Back Up does not have more five-star reviews. I'll never cease to be amazed at how a story so short can offer such emotions.

Wow, it's been quite a while since a story has had me in tears. Beautifully told and so incredibly moving.

Wearing Purple is a touching little story exploring the cost of not finding the strength and courage to wear purple. My guess is that this tale will remind readers of those they have known who were or are much like the main character.

What a touching story. I had tears in my eyes thinking of how many times one hasn't found the courage to live their true life. Well done, thank you.

With Chapter 15 come the descriptions of two women no one seems to like, at least as far as readers are concerned. Shayna [Pronounced: Shāy-nä] Age : 20 Appearance : petite Height : 5’4” Eyes : dark grey Caucasian Hair : bleached blonde Receptionist to Dr. MacLarroy, daughter to Dixie Mae, like mother-like daughter, narcissist, schemer, bigot, loves her sparkly-blue eye shadow and red lipstick, dresses provocatively, has been said to go after anything with ‘three legs’ single or married, has amazing ‘dykedar’ but zero ‘gaydar’, referred to as: Chiennailleuse: man-chaser, Salope: (c u next Tuesday) Dixie Mae Age : 54 Appearance : pudgy, frumpy, dresses provocatively Height : 5’6” Eyes : dark grey Caucasian Hair : bleached blonde Mother to Shayna and ‘cut from the same cloth’, narcissist, schemer, bigot, never leaves home without her ‘face’ and red lipstick, mid-fifties, known for being caught on church security footage ‘fornicating in the chapel’, carries her bible everywhere, prefers bouffant or beehive hairstyles, like her daughter, Dixie Mae is referred to as a: Chiennailleuse, Salope. -

In fact, I was going to mention he’ll be here on Saturday with a friend.” Tuck smiled. “Someone special?” “Apparently so, but we don’t know who. Mac hinted that he and Mary are expecting to hear an announcement.” ---------- “Who has an announcement?” “Good morning, Jake, Mannly. Daddy's guns—what an image @Summerabbacat. Willie always did look a bit mature to me. It's interesting to see him of more recent age. -

It's been a bit cluttered in there of late. I'm still laughing, thinking about @drsawzall's suggestion of "Mind if I smell you?" Can you imagine @PJGee anyone being brave enough to even consider volunteering to sniff that lot? At first reading, my thoughts went to writing a chapter about one of the characters using that line. Funnier, though, was picturing their faces in response to the idea. Yes, again, more ahead... -

Holy shhhhhh.... You always come up with magnificent one-liners @drsawzall. Hmmm, wonder if one of the cast wants to volunteer for.... Oops, hold on. < Internal conversations happening... Okay, okay, I hear you guys... Yes, I'll tell him... NO! He's a nice guy; I am NOT saying that! Geez, get a grip. > Sorry, @drsawzall, in an attempt to clean up the collective responses so my laptop and GA don't melt from the onslaught of questionable verbiage, let's just say they all responded with "Hell no, we're not sniffing..." 🤣 🤣 🤣 Now, who's had a rough day? Okay, think of this: Don't you wish you lived in my head??? -

They all do at that, @sandeman. There's nothing like that kind of support when one has experienced trauma, be it one or an entire ranchful of people. The intent, initially, wasn't to get so heavily into the aftereffects of PTSD, but there simply is no way around it. Homophobia, and let's face it, all the other bigoted b.s. in our world just refuse to quit. It's interesting and, honestly, rather depressing to be able to hear those same references used in the story in my head while writing. There was one schmuck talking about his own son, and I so want to tell that fool: If you stay the hell out of his bedroom, then you wouldn't have to worry about what they're doing. The really crazy thing is the adult son and his boyfriend live with the guy, and given his views, one would think he wouldn't just barge in their room without knocking. SMH -

I've always been amazed by those who think more fragrance will cover body odor and other stench. @Wiyot, you're right with bleh.
