  1. I love this show. I've been on pins and needles for series 2, which is supposed to start this fall on the BBC. Don't watch it for the historical accuracy, you'll tear your hair out. But it's great entertainment. It's a very large and prolific fandom. *whistles*
  2. Happy Birthday, Vic! Hope you have a great day.
  3. Happy Birthday, Bob! Hope it's a wonderful day.
  4. You've got a big heart. Thanks for making me smile.
  5. Happy Birthday, Graeme!
  6. Happy Birthday, Mark! Have a wonderful day.
  7. Quick update: The most relevant and interesting links from the past few days. (I'm trying not to bombard you.) Amazon's excuse Excerpt: It has been misreported that the issue was limited to Gay & Lesbian themed titles
  8. Sage words from Graeme. The policy does seem contradictory to how Amazon has conducted business in the past. However
  9. I, myself, have to wonder if this is really the best their PR department could do on a Monday morning after a holiday. The glitch excuse doesn't hold up to inspection, especially as several of the authors received written confirmation from an Amazon rep that their material had been removed purposefully. Sickening.
  10. Amazon's reply this morning. There's still a fair amount of outrage out there, as well as some outright disbelief. There are also several interesting theories floating around regarding the manipulation of Amazon's "report abuse" or "report objectionable content" feature by individuals aiming to target GLBT works: Link, via #amazonfail
  11. I was wondering when this would hit GA. 12. I was floored to see Indiana go to Obama. Floored and thrilled. Good luck with the job. Hopefully things will get better soon. ~Libby
  13. Happy Birthday, Corvus, and many happy returns!
  14. I really appreciated them. Coming from a community where story headers are convention, it was very nice to see a short summary of each of the stories here. I had assumed the authors themselves had supplied them. I'd like to see them going forward for my own selfish reasons, but a solid summary can also draw reluctant readers to click. Another thing that would be really helpful, to me, anyway, would be word count. Sometimes I can spare only a certain amount of time to read. I like knowing what I'm getting into in advance.
  15. OMG, you guys! Thank you! I'm so glad I found GA. Stopping by the site after a long absence is like coming home. Thanks again.
  16. I consider that to be very much an individual decision, and I expect, as you say, that the level to which a person's bisexuality is openly demonstrated may play a factor. Regardless, I believe coming out as bisexual to your partner to be pretty important in terms or trust, respect, and intimacy. For myself, my parents and sister have always been well aware of my bisexuality, since I never took any pains to hide it. I have noticed, as an amusing side note, that they seem to believe I've "turned" heterosexual, since I married a man and had children. So silly. For my husband, his bisexuality is not a subject he discusses with his parents (though I suspect they know). At any rate, we knew these things about each other long before we were ever married, and it's made for some fun times over the years. We don't shout it from the rooftops, true. We keep our private lives private. But we also strive to help our children understand that it's not the gender (or sexuality) of the person you love that matters, but how their soul touches yours.
  17. I was wondering when this was going to happen! I knew it had to be only a matter of time. Congratulations, corvus! Your talent is an inspiration.
