    Chapter 55

November 4, 2000 Hamar, Norway Will I sat there with my head in my hands, blocking out the rink and the world, pondering this situation. With my mother in Malibu, life was going to be really tough, especially after this. Even if she agreed to give up her parental rights, she’d still be there to cause me problems. I wondered what Tiffany would do. I couldn’t see them getting back together, not when my mother was like this. I searched my conscience, trying to evaluate my actions,

    Chapter 15

I wouldn't guess that Bertie is helpless. ;-) Besides, remember that Chartley ran off to warn him about what was going to happen, so unless Chartley ran into problems, Bertie should be ready for it.

    Chapter 15

    It's a writer's wet dream. :-)

    Chapter 15

Why thank you. I think. ;-)

    Chapter 15

That would seem to be a prime area. I'm not sure he has to worry so much about the ships. It's the cargo that should be valuable.
  6. Baby, you so want that to be true.
  7. Of course, I hadn't thought of that at all. (wink)

    Chapter 15

Yep. Next Saturday (I hope) we sail
  9. Very well said. JP leads by using respect, influence, and occasionally manipulation. Brad tends to get out in front and lead the charge, expecting others to blindly follow. To use a military analogy, Brad is a good lieutenant, but he's not a good general yet. JP, well, he's a field marshal. Wow. I really wish you'd post more. You just laid it out there better than I could have dreamed, and clarified things even for me.
  10. I got your virgin post! And an excellent post at that.

    Chapter 15

June 1, 1797 Granger scanned the young man who looked quite well-turned out, nothing like the midshipman he’d brought with him from Plymouth. The first impression Granger got was that the boy was sparkling clean, largely a result of the bath Granger had made him take last night. He wore a new uniform made of the finest broadcloth, with gold leaf on the shoulder boards. The breeches fit him perfectly, while the silk stockings seemed to glimmer, and if they did not, th
  12. That is fantastic! Good for you! I think Hardy would have enjoyed being with you (if rumors are to be believed).

    Chapter 54

I think Brad is trying to balance all the issues, while Will is simply noting that what happened is flat out wrong.
  14. That's my bad. I have the next two, I just need to post them. Now posted.
  15. In your immeasurable wisdom, did you ponder that maybe Will isn't right? Just asking.

    Chapter 54

Good point on "Billy." Perhaps the author forgot about that. :-(

    Chapter 54

Wouldn't normalcy be nice? It's coming, in 10 chapters or so. ;-)

    Chapter 54

You're just supposed to be patient. ;-)

    Chapter 54

You're considering that possible charge, Brad's probably considering it, but it isn't on Will's radar

    Chapter 54

I can see that. Will's actually 14, not that that's significant. I see him as a study in various stages of maturity. Sometimes he's very adult-like, while on other things he's very childish

    Chapter 54

Interesting comparison to Brad. I think in some ways, and considering his age, Will has a much stronger focus on right/wrong, good/evil

    Chapter 54

In the mind of a 14-15 year old, that's exactly how things are. That doesn't mean that's how things are.
  23. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 54

I think that Brad is haunted by his own mother and that's making it hard for him to balance this issue.
