I wouldn't guess that Bertie is helpless. ;-) Besides, remember that Chartley ran off to warn him about what was going to happen, so unless Chartley ran into problems, Bertie should be ready for it.

Very well said. JP leads by using respect, influence, and occasionally manipulation. Brad tends to get out in front and lead the charge, expecting others to blindly follow. To use a military analogy, Brad is a good lieutenant, but he's not a good general yet. JP, well, he's a field marshal. Wow. I really wish you'd post more. You just laid it out there better than I could have dreamed, and clarified things even for me.

I can see that. Will's actually 14, not that that's significant. I see him as a study in various stages of maturity. Sometimes he's very adult-like, while on other things he's very childish

Interesting comparison to Brad. I think in some ways, and considering his age, Will has a much stronger focus on right/wrong, good/evil

In the mind of a 14-15 year old, that's exactly how things are. That doesn't mean that's how things are.

I think that Brad is haunted by his own mother and that's making it hard for him to balance this issue.
