Brad's not going to blackmail Will, and for all of Will's posturing, he's not going to cause Brad significant problems. They love each other too much for that to happen.
I'm glad you liked the chapter. I don't think JJ is like Mary Ellen. Mary Ellen is a real schemer, while JJ isn't really worried enough about anyone else to scheme at all.
I think that a relationship like Ryan and Shiloh have, where they're newly back together, is bound to be absorbing. I think it will be sad for Ryan when he comes up for air and realizes that Will is gone.
I actually get why JJ is acting that way. He just wants the whole thing to vanish. He liked Michael, feels betrayed by him, but his primary mode here is avoidance.

Alexandra and Elizabeth sharing a cell...now that would be funny. I agree that her flaw may be in underestimating Wade, but she would see Trevor and Wade's father as being motivated by something besides friendship or love, and that may be even more dangerous for her.
I'm glad you're enjoying both narrators. It sometimes makes it hard to write, because I'll have my mind locked in one character and it will be time to write the other, but for the most part, it's been fun.

He could be difficult to handle, so most people opted to ride the mare instead. I squeezed my legs and pulled on the rein, and he responded, breaking into a canter. We were both enjoying the ride across JP’s acreage when my phone rang. I reined the horse in, pulling him back to a walk as I
