    Chapter 33

There are trolls in Bridgemont too, no? The good news is that I try to publish the follow up chapter more quickly when there's a cliffhanger.

    Chapter 33

My revenge for not getting nominated this year. ;-)

    Chapter 33

LOL. And you don't even know who the father is...yet.

    Chapter 33

March 8, 1797 The coach lurched as it hit yet another bump in the road, jostling Granger into Kerry, who was sitting next to him. It was stuffy, but opening the window a bit didn’t seem to alleviate that; it merely made it colder inside. Granger was trying to be good company, and to remain in good spirits, but he was finding it difficult. He’d undoubtedly be leaving his command, the ship that he’d grown to love. Belvidera was a ship that was an excellent sailer, but only if o
  5. I think you're right about Matt and Wade. Wade hasn't told us really what's going on in his mind with this whole thing because he doesn't really get it himself. He will.

    Chapter 18

Great observations rjo! 1. The scene with Riley was cheesy, but I liked it too. 2. Wait until Chapter 19. 3. I don't think Wade got to watch Uncle Roscoe beat off. ;-) 4. Probably not.

    Chapter 18

I don't know about that. I can see an open relationship working with these guys.

    Chapter 18

Great to see you back! Thanks for posting! The Ste. Claire is too stuffy for me. ;-)

    Chapter 18

Wade gave you a big clue as to why he's enjoying this time with other guys. It's important to him. The Fairmont isn't right next to the Shark Tank, is it?

    Chapter 18

LOL. You're as bad as Matt. It's OK for Matt to fool around, but Wade has to be chaste. :-) Hang in there on the legal stuff. You're a chapter or two ahead of me.

    Chapter 18

These guys really do love each other. Thanks!

    Chapter 18

September 30, 2000 Redwood City, CA Wade Our game totally sucked. I sat in the locker room, listening to the coach bitch at us. “You dipshits went out and fucking partied last night, and now you played like shit today. So that’s it. No more parties on the night before a game. I find out you so much as drink one fucking beer, I’m bag skating all your sorry asses. You got me?” That meant he’d make us skate in practice until we puked, and it meant that he was serious. We
  13. I like Wiki too, and they've made their editing rules more stringent so that helps make the info more credible. A Google search is always a good bet. But for me, the best sources of information haven't come from those sources, they've come from readers who have helped me out.

    Chapter 32

    No problem, bud. Good luck!
  15. Shall we find out? I think you're just taunting Sharon.
  16. That's what I initially thought as well, but wasn't there some sort of resurgence?
  17. I don't see Winkler and Granger having a relationship that expands beyond their current situation, primarily because of social class differences. Granger may have a fling with someone who is more "common", like Jeffers and Holmquist, but it doesn't really go anywhere, because it really can't. They can't have a friendship in public. Beyond that, I think that Winkler and Granger are very happy with where their relationship is right now. They both need each other, and are really quite dependent on each other. I can't see either one of them wanting to screw that up.
  18. Claire may have her fashion roots back in the 1980s, but that doesn't mean she didn't adapt with the times and that she doesn't appreciate new trends. There are no shoulder pads in her closet.
  19. I think there are a few surprises headed your way.

    Chapter 32

They'll be along, those other chapters. Not to worry.

    Chapter 32

    I think that's entirely possible.

    Chapter 32

    Yes. What you said.
  23. LOL. I'm glad you feel that way! I have some things to close out with this story first. I don't see George in a ship of the line yet. He's simply not senior enough to merit one. Spencer made quite the leap in giving him Belvidera. His first command should have been a 32 gun frigate (as Belvidera was) with a 12-pounder main armament, not 18-pounders like Belvidera had. She was also fairly new, and his first command should probably have been older. Spencer will have a dilemma now. He'll have to find a ship for Granger that rewards his efforts, but not one so large that it would arouse jealousy and resentment among other officers. He had an out with Belvidera because of her problems (the mutiny) on board. That made her not so plum an assignment.
  24. And George hates uncertainty, so this will make things more stressful for him. And you all thought he was going to sail smoothly home to London. Well, some people like images, some people don't. I try to intersperse them where I think they help the story out. I thought that the Battle of Cape St. Vincent screamed for them, as well as the diagrams on the ship movements.
  25. Rjo raised the issue of ECT(electric shock therapy) treatment in the reviews, noting that ECT was what JP had specifically forbade them from doing to Jeff in "1968." I noted that it there is a lot less electricity used these days than there was in earlier days. Here's a quote from the Wiki article:
