    Chapter 89

    For right now. 😈

    Chapter 89

I really don’t think pushing Travis onto a bed or shoulder bumping him comes close to what Zach did.

    Chapter 89

I think Will has that "Mafia Don" side to him. I think Darius does as well, but I think he would be even calmer than Brad or JP. Claire is too classy to go there. The Will of four years ago would have blown them all off the ship. This Will did a much better job of managing his rage and disengaging until he was calm enough to handle things.

    Chapter 89

April 9, 2004 Los Angeles, CA Brad My phone rang, and since I was about to go into a meeting, I was tempted to ignore it until I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Jake. I smiled as I answered it. “Good morning,” I said pleasantly. “I miss you,” he said. “I’ve only been gone for a day, and I should be back tonight,” I said, which wasn’t what he wanted to hear. I changed course and said what I should have said in the first place. “I miss you too.”

    Chapter 88

April 9, 2004 Aboard the Tonto The Mediterranean Sea Will “This would be better if it were summer,” Travis said, as we got out of the water. The Tonto had paused her progress to allow us to ride the jet skis around, but the waves had started to pick up, and we had places to go, so after an hour, we’d hauled them back aboard. “Pussy,” I accused. “This is way warmer than the Pacific.” “Whatever,” he grumbled, then smiled. “Time to hot tub.” I was
  6. July 5, 1801 Brentwood, UK The staff at Brentwood had been expecting a caravan of carriages, as the newly minted earl of this place was due to arrive today. Granger had thwarted that plan with his impulsive decision to go on horseback. He had been cooped up in London, and as the beautiful day dawned, he’d decided to enjoy a brisk ride. He took four footmen with him, all good riders, to placate Winkler, who was convinced he would otherwise be taken captive by highwaymen. Gra

I have to disagree with you about the Tube. I think it’s a wonderful system.

    Chapter 87

Travis’s Journal: Escape from Buck Mountain: April 7, 2004: London Yesterday my plans, and all of my scheming, turned to complete shit. I should have known I couldn’t trust that Guy Fellowes dude. I should have listened to my instincts. They were supposed to file that lawsuit on April 19, and then I’d be back in the US and legal on the 20th. I’d be in a position to orchestrate the takeover of Buck Industries. In one stroke, I’d be able to totally fuck my father over and save our family

It’s not nearly as cool, though.

    Chapter 86

I was there in 2010. It was summer, and it was hot.

    Chapter 86

Spoiler: in a few chapters, Brad makes a cameo.

    Chapter 86

Alright, you caught me in an error on Anglican customs and service times. Regarding Gibraltar, Will’s statement that “It’s not our problem” is my opinion at this point.

    Chapter 86

April 2, 2004 The Alhambra Palace Granada, Spain Will “This is kind of strange,” I said, as we walked up to a building that looked completely out of place. We’d spent the morning touring the Alhambra Palace, with its really impressive Moorish architecture, yet there was this one building in the complex that looked like it should be at Versailles. “This is called the Palace of Charles V,” Grand explained. “It was started in the 1530s and never completed.”
  15. What do you think about Jacob Elordi as a Brad/Will model?

I love posting cherries! Thanks for your kind words! Your reference to George as a warrior and his reaction to Caroline was spot on.

    Chapter 85

March 26, 2004 The Schluter Foundation San Francisco, CA Will I’d been bored shitless and needed something to do, so Jake asked me to come up and see how the vetting system for projects was going to work for the Foundation. I’d spent the morning working on it with one of the analysts. His name was Griff, and he was a really nice guy, but a total hippy. It was like when he moved, I could hear the granola crunching inside him. “You think this may work?” I asked, as I
  18. That's a really credible approach. I love how you want to make sure you don't leave your own readers in a lurch like you were. What a wonderful post. Thank you so much for bringing a reader's point of view to the discussion. I think that reviewers should, in general, be generous. This is a hobby for me, and probably for the other authors here. Bad reviews and excessive criticism can be crushing, especially if the author is just starting out. It's not like your review is for the NY Times. That being said, constructive criticism is vital for growth, and as an author, you have to develop a bit of a thick skin.
  19. Mine never are, primarily because reader comments can help guide the story.
  20. Thank you so much for bringing this up! I think it's a huge factor in building and maintaining a readership base, and one that isn't mentioned all that much (or at least I missed it). In one sense, not publishing a chapter for a long time is a bit like ghosting someone. When you decide to re-materialize, they may have moved on.

Every once in awhile you reveal something about yourself, and this time it seems very painful. I’m sorry. ❤️

That is probably a reflection of the author’s own drinking experiences. 😀
