The helicopter banked over the massive home and settled gently down onto the huge expanse of lawn in front. I was mindful that I was arriving in much the same way that the Duke of Suffolk had arrived at Goodwell. As the helicopter blades wound down, I grabbed my briefcase, thanked the pilot, and ducked out of the door. The staff would take care of my luggage for me. I strolled a few feet away from the arc of the blades to find Ale
For our American readers, let's remember to distinguish between the Tories in Britain and the Republicans over here. A different breed.
I think it makes sense for George to be a Whig. He fits in nicely with the big Whig grandees of the era. I'm not sure that it's entirely reasonable that he's a Whig while his father and brother are Tories (it seemed to be much more of a family affair back then), but as you noted, since party lines were much more blurred, it seems to work.

I walked into the sitting room, and I was so furious I was unable to hide it. I saw JP and Stef, wearing the same expression I had. “I see you talked to Will.” I’d just talked to him about Zach’s positive drug test. It was pretty obvious that he’d been set up.
“We have,” Stef said. My phone rang, and I was going to ignore it, but I saw that it was Trevor. I’d been trying to talk to him for three days now, but he’d a
There are people in some families who worry about the overall family integrity, and make it their mission to hold things together. JP is one of those people and so is Will. Brad wants to be that guy, but just can't pull it off.
You make a good point, in that clearly Zach was expendable even if he did what he was supposed to do. I guess in the minds of the EDs of the world, he's just a minion, one that can be easily sacrificed.
It really was a bit humiliating, to just have paltry G-5s. It was time for an upgrade. :-)
You're right about Kevin. I've gotten lots of great advice and influence with readers that has helped and continues to help me address AIDs.
It would be strange if this relationship burst from nothing, but Granger has known Daventry for some time now, and that helps build their trust quickly.
I think that George, when he's at sea, must crave the company of those he can relate to, whether that be because of their social background, intellect, or temperament. Daventry fills all three of those slots.
Actually, you'd be wrong about that. My fun reading this summer has been on the politics/fashions of that era. I've read several general books and five biographies: The Prince of Wales/George IV, Beau Brummel, Lord Castlereagh, The Duke of Wellington, and William Pitt the Younger. I also read much of Henry Greville's memoirs, but those affect a later era.
I know that with these stories, you'll find some detail that I've screwed up on. Then again, sometimes you're wrong, but probably not this time. We'll have to assume they were a bit more thorough with Zach. (SMILE). You make a good point.
And I agree that Julius is flashing his cash too much. That boy is toast, most likely.
That's a very good point. On the one hand, Elizabeth doesn't always give her family credit for being all that astute. Or maybe she doesn't really care if they find out or not.
I think you're right about Zach, and I'm betting that Will points that out to him. ;-) Really, from this point forward, he's got a sword hanging over his head. Every step up makes the potential fall that much harder.
