  1. Yeah, I was part of the gene mapping group too However, seriously, a game console that could overpower my PC was overkill.
  2. Hmmm...Star Trek thought of it first
  3. Completely agree with Myr, writers have real life to deal with and sometimes we leave a story in the middle, then can't get the feeling anymore to continue writing it. I have at least 7 abandoned stories on GA and 1 unfinished play. (Don't worry guys about "Big Squeeze", I have learned my lesson to write it before you lose it. I am writing the story first, then I am going to send it to the editors. Hope they are still around for the over 100K worth of words and counting. I'll make cliff notes and coffee ).
  4. Ill wait til summer and get a new pc with 8. My poor Sony viao is aging it way to the end
  5. Detroit is in the worst mess of decades with a falling population and property values, along with high unemployment. Crime is running rampant and the Police Department is being stretched thin. http://www.freep.com/article/20130221/COL06/130221080/Tom-Walsh-Sure-Snyder-wants-grow-Detroit-can-t-say-how- Doesn't this sound like the premise of Robocop's dystopian future? Well, it's no longer science fiction, it is a fact of life and reality. No, a cyborg cop won't save Detroit, nor would the evil OCP Corporation or the fabled "Delta City". The task of restructuring Detroit is going be ugly and long. If Governor Snyder does choose an Emergency manager to take over the city (Doesn't that sound like the plot of RoboCop 2, weird coincidences between both reality and fiction), they will have very little time to work on the problem. I recently found this link again and was reminded how Sci-fi can be so good at predicting future outcomes and that HG Well's epitaph "damning mankind for our ignorance in spite of his warnings" might be true. http://www.businessinsider.com/how-robocop-predicted-everything-important-about-modern-americaback-in-1987-2012-5?op=1 Just a thought on Detroit issues.
  6. Or Better yet, hack into every McDonald's terminal and reset all prices to 0.01.
  7. Hopefully, they learned their lesson with the PS3, don't kill yourself with price points and power that can never be fully utilized. As long as the PS4's GPU and interface are improved with a starting price below $400.00, I'd expect them to sell well.
  8. They could have wool fetishes Amazing sheep herding and "car"rousing
  9. Thats maury"s special next week Weird and shows how amazing human anatomy can be. Odds were 60 million to 1
  10. Hmmm....a cheap and easy solution is to dig holes for everyone before it comes... (Morbidly accurate too as you need holes for graves and holes for shelters). A fun sci-fi solution is to become a Subterranean civilization like H.G Wells had imagined in his "Time Machine" Our Mammalian ancestors escaped the Dinosaur extinction fate by living in holes and caves for eons, why can't human beings? It's simple and classic.
  11. Truthfully, how man amateur astronomers are working together to track asteroids, identify, or calculate probable paths? Also as a hobby, amateur astronomers are not nearly large enough as a group to cover even our own solar system. According to NASA, we have thousands of asteroids and other debris in our solar system that are not catalogue. That does not even count extrasolar objects that are beyond our Sun and its heliosphere. Spectrascopes and spectrometer measuring light in orbit as satellites are our best chance for identifying and analyzing them as normal optical telescopes as James pointed have to contend with earth based atmosphere issues and limits. Also why can't we nuke a 100 meter object in a week. Wouldn't smaller objects be easier for our atmosphere to burn off on entry due to friction? I know it depends on the asteroids composition, which could be done, so you could nuke it without radiation or fallout, why not? A highly cumbustible asteroid would give more options than a pure metallic one.
  12. Optical telescopes are fun for amateur astronomers, which are few and far in between. In the face of extinction, we really are too primitive to pull off a rescue in time. Not many Telescope are being used for asteroid detection according to the last CNN interview after the meteor strike. There are more advanced spectrometer that collect data on light and can even assess composition of objects based on reflection. We have the technology to develop an early warning system if space development can be invested in. As for weapon systems, "don't worry Mr. bond, we won't try to take over the world" <scratches cat in evil swirly chair>. I know, It's not a perfect world.
  13. Alright, I don't do enough reviews or writing nowadays with my busy schedule, but I will take some time to write this one about ABC's night time soap Revenge. Yes, I freely admit it, I am hooked on the story and the raw emotions of the characters. Basically, we got several dead people, a symbolic catharsis, and a complex storyline centering on revenge coming. I won't offer you too many spoilers, but Emily is definitely not going to be the same after this fiasco. Nor do I think will Jack, who married Faux Amanda ( ). On a side note, I have to say it, I hate Jack for being such a wimp, but if I am reading in between the lines correctly. I think Jack may be on the road for Revenge as well. He is going to go psychotic after learning the truth. I wonder if Takeda is going to start a satellite school in Montauk Now Emily, poor Emily, she has lost her father, her lover, and herself at various points, but her heart was still beating strong. Now, I think she truly will lose her heart of gold and push herself to be ruthless and cold hearted bitch that she needs to be in order to get revenge. Victoria is busy as well after killing Helen last episode. She has played her way around power, family, and revenge herself, but I still cannot understand her true motivations completely. Victoria is as much a mystery as she was last season. I still harbor the theory that Victoria already knows about Amanda/Emily's real identity from the start, which would make a great twist reveal as there are a lot of loose holes in the story (might just be standard Soap plot holes, but I don't believe so). Victoria is what makes Revenge pleasurable in a way that evil power hungry woman do on all daytime Soaps, but she has one other side to her. She really did love David Clarke and her heart is not the same as her words. Anyway, Victoria plays housewife and spy, she is fooling the terrorist group with an elaborate array of lies to implicate Amanda as the killer of Helen. She cleverly fakes an argument with Daniel in order to keep it up. Conrad is still his ego driven self with extremely crafty and murderous plots abound. While Victoria wanted to implicate Amanda subtly for the terrorists to kill her, Conrad was more direct and just wanted to kill her using hired guns. Conrad is far too direct and arrogant. Daniel has basically lost all sense of morals and decency. I find him to be as culpable and irredeemable as his dad now with all the evil that he is indirectly involved in. Last thought, Nolan dump the evil backstabbing bitch and hook up with a nice guy. I still think the girl will betray them and probably spill doom for either him or Aiden (As the only GLBT character on Revenge, Nolan cannot go). Nolan has been burned twice by guys and betrayed by woman, he needs a decent love interest. Generally: 9.5 out of 10
  14. He who dissent must represent a point, If there is no point doesn't it make both sides of an argument pointless. So what is your point zombie? I do want to know. Tim makes a bold claim and you refute him, but I do not know where you stand. Afterward lets grab a pint at the local pub to cheer our favorite sports.
  15. Makes you wonder if mass driver weapons technology could ever be feasible to that level where even modern nuke can't go? I am not proposing a conspiracy theory, but a speculative idea, f=ma is a simple law of physics. As for stopping meteors near earth or asteroids in space, we are simply too primitive. In a perfect world we would have planetary defense satellites armed with fusion missiles and an advance spectrometer to detect incoming threats.
  16. Gentlemen and zombies Lets all compromise and blame the French Thanks for describing doing effects and wrestling. Sounds like steroids are far more likely issue than dope. I wonder why do countries need the Olympics to compete against each other in wrestling. Shouldn't sport and recreation be based on personal interests rather than national pride nowadays if there is enough people supporting it?
  17. hmmm.....Depends on which son? (As the cute Puppy about to post a sexy picture, <Slaps puppy self>, "Bad puppy no politics anymore, remember" ) Here's a legitimate question, why would doping help Wrestlers? Is it just steroids or are there other drugs?
  18. Lets tech out I've been wondering why can't my droid tablet edit stuff on GA ? Windows 7 at the moment seems easier to work with, but maybe office 13 will change my mind.
  19. James, you really need a hug and a move out of the deep south. Hell, no one should need to live through shit like that.
  20. I read up on windows 8 and have been thinking about taking the plunge for months now. However, this youtube video both disturbs and amuses me: I have a tablet and love it, it's a Asus Transformer Prime, which is kind of a netbook/tablet combo with the keyboard. I can type from it and use it on trips, so I am happy with the touch/standard hybrid interface based on android. However, Windows 8 variant of laptops that I have played with now seem a little weird to me. The touch interface is nice, but nothing new to me. Little things like excel and word don't seem as usable as they used to be. It makes me wonder about the usability of the windows 8 OS and how it compares to Windows 7 or my Android OS systems. Is it wrong to prefer usability for PC's and fun for tablets? I sort of understand the youtube reviewer's frustrations and think he might be right about Windows 8 being the wrong product for the wrong demographic. Not to mention that Microsoft killed Windows 7 in order to get windows 8 launched. In terms of business OS, Windows 7 was and still is superior in many regards to Windows 8.
  21. It makes me sad every year, I never have had a relationship that has lasted long enough to go to Valentines day, isn't that ironic
  22. He also claims it's an elaborate plan to take over the world.... Drat! Pinky, we must go back to the lab again
  23. Exclusive expansion (Playstation needs it) I thought 3d rendering was partly device oriented along with maximum potential from your TV. The game sends the display settings out, but the device reads it for TV.
  24. For once I agree with the green one Gladiatorial blood sports and bread for all
  25. It can do the old gta but graphically it has limits. I haven't seen a tablet with either nvidea or amd cards. Also you risk overheating your unit without dedicated fans.
