  1. As I am stuck with a case of writer's block, I had a funny geek argument with a friend over the new CW Flash series (Yes, they are trying to do a version of the Flash focusing on "Barry Allen". The guy playing him is remembered for another role from Glee, which some of us will find very interesting ) I just thought that CW would hold back the Flash's full power and potential with the speed force, like time travel. That branched off into an argument about the new 52 DC universe, which can be blamed on the Flash. When it comes to comic book heroes, there's a lot of geeky arguments: Who will win in a fight Batman or Superman? Who is stronger Superman or Hulk? I think geek arguments are extremely fun and engaging, when it comes to trivial stuff. It is not based on real world issues, conflicts, or stuff that causes fist fights (well, unless you take the geek argument too far, then sure it can lead to that). Geek arguments are everywhere and on any subject, so I wonder how many other people have geek arguments?
  2. They make a cute couple

    NFL 2013

The problem is that their reaction times are not as great as they used to be. Against most teams around the same average age and demeanor, it's no issue, but against a younger team with a fast line, you're in trouble. Don't get me wrong, I think Brady is the Best QB in the game's history, with Manning up there too, despite my Hatred for the Manning legacy (I will never forget Eli or the Giant's two super bowls indignation, I want revenge and satisfaction!) With the success of the Seahawks, I am thinking that the NFL teams are going to go after a similar defensive/offensive line in the next draft. Also with the lackluster performance of old brand name players, there needs to be a new generation of stars in the NFL. Football is as much a sport as it is live gladiatorial theater.

Nope Personally, I think he and Brady should retire (takes two steps back from matt) Seriously, a lot of Qbs have passed their prime and they've made their fortunes, why not settle down and go coach an ncaa team or open restaurants.

    Haha Benji!
  6. He will be joining heath ledger in movie star after life So tragic for a great actor
  7. That sounds like the Lavendar town thing, plus the Porygon episode with the seizures. My solution, what the kids need to do is pray to Arceus for Poke-"redemption"? Arceus is the "Alpha Pokemon", creator of the universe, and the only level 80 Pokemon to be found in the wild. Don't believe in Giratina deceptions, he just wants to lull you into the distortion world, where he was banished Repent! Repent! Pokefans! ( I am only half joking, Pokemon lore does believe Arceus is the Creator of the Poke-verse and Giratina is Satan in pokemon form)

Congrats Seahawks for winning Super Bowl 48, As for Peyton Manning, you've already won as colts and had the curse of the Broncos against you, so don't feel depressed.
  9. Well Pokemon are interesting, I love top 10 lists that Pokefans bring out: This one is interestingly disturbing: Pokemon can also be tragic::
  10. Actually, Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will be reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga. Mr. Feeney will be back in some capacity (Seriously, you can't do a sequel without Mr. Feeney ) Rider Strong has not said whether he is or is not coming back, Michael Jacobs, the show creator and runner, is leaving that as a "surprise". Bring Shawn back, please! I also want to hear what happened to Eric (He's the king of slackers, but still, I've always wondered if he ever got his life in order) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girl_Meets_World If wiki is to believed, Cory is going to be stepping into the classroom, like his mentor Mr. Feeney. If this show lasts as many seasons, imagine how his daughter will feel seeing her father as her middle school teacher, high school teacher, and College professor I can write the awkward comedic plots in my head now. Looking back, the early plots were corny and juvenile, the later plots were dramatic and soap opera-like, (Shawn's Half Brother Jack....enough said, I was waiting for Cory's evil twin after that ). However, in between all that, the show had a lot of good lessons about life, choices, and relationships between friends, family, and lovers. It was the first young adult show I watched. Also, the last scene made me cry as a kid and made me cry as I re-watched the series online thinking back on the show: I can't find the complete clip of the last scene, but I still remember the missing segments (a few touches of comedy and self reflection)
  11. Is Disney finally taking the hint that they should keep their old viewers happy and go across generations? Or is this a badly conceived idea to bring back Cory + Topanga, and the old gang? (Yes Mr. Feeney ) I want to believe Disney wants to get my viewership with a fun tv show that reminds me of being a kid again too. Alas, I dare to hope Sorry about all the mistype, but I am extremely excited that part of the TGIF block is coming back to TV.
  12. Depends if you love gothic American Horror, I do, so I have seen all three. Matt, the pacing is classic American horror, more plot development and build up rather than tension or modern horror tricks. I'm not talking Hitchcock brand horror when I say classic, the show is more like Faulkner's literary horror. This is a horror movie with an actual plot and character development. There are layers of meaning, absurd realism, and twisted desires. Plus, there's some eye candy and naked guys (alright, I am not just appreciating the show for its plot ):
  13. You can cry on my shoulders and I will cry on yours, if anyone asks, we can just tell them we're making out swan style

    Children and adults

Eternal Vigilance, I guess... Life is complicated, I tend to be skeptical of all things. Authority, peers, relgious principles, and even friends are not beyond suspicion. However, suspicion does not mean I must live in fear of everyone. For me, the child sex abuse issues and stories have brought a mixed bag of things. The Pro is that I am very hard to be shocked or caught off guard by some one's indiscretions, my experiences keep any possibility open. The Con is that I have trust issues with everyone I know to a certain point.
  15. Nope, I am cheering for Seattle too! I can't stand another Manning winning the Super Bowl. The Manning family does not own the NFL Hoping for lots of interceptions!

  17. Seriously, after reading about how bad the South has taken "Winter", I am quite surprised and shocked at how people don't get common sense concepts to us New Englanders. So, I thought I would share some basic winter tips from New Englanders to GA members down south, so you guys don't become stuck: 1. Take your time and don't rush, when walking- I know Southerners might never heard of the dreaded "black Ice" that we have in Boston and New York, but Ice can be invisible to the eye and on surface, so slow and steady keeps you safe. 2. If Driving, plan on alternate routes on top of alternate routes- One of the biggest problems I am hearing is that people don't seem to prepare for alternate routes. Sure you might have driven the same road every day for 20 years, but there might be other roads home. TomTom is decent, but it does not substitute experience and personal attempts. 3. Wear appropriate clothing even if you are driving- For Pete sakes, wear a jacket, even if it is a light one. I am not pointing to the stereotypical rednecks with wife beaters, I am pointing to the idiotic office workers that wear their dress shirts every day. This is the 21st century, most business professionals wear regular jackets or wool coats too. 4. If you don't have special melting salt or other winter supplies, plan on using good substitutes- For instance, you can use kitty litter if salt and sand are not present. Seriously, it's a simple and easily found item in most stores. If your car is stuck in ice, take some kitty litter out and pour a good amount around you tires for traction. 5. Lastly, another car issue- DON'T USE HOT WATER TO CLEAR ICE OFF WINDSHIELDS! Ice is made by water, so one of the issues is that it will just ice up again. Another issue, the most important one, HOT WATER AND A COLD GLASSY SURFACE CREATES CRACKS! If you want to be stitched up after your windshield cracks and breaks on the highway, feel free to do that. Get some vinegar from your home, mix it with a little cold water, and you have a de-icing solution. ------------------------------------ Stay safe and try to be winter prepared even if you usually live in mid 50's - 60's.

    Space Plane

Agreed, amazing feat for space jet engine design. Until we develop Arthur C Clarke's space elevator, this tech may be our best shot at low orbit commercial launches.
  19. I cried a dozen times with "A Walk to remember", so i am game for another tear jerker.
  20. Probably at a seedy motel with a kilo of crack and a dead body like most Hollywood stories about ex-celebs with problems. Or he could pull the Britney card and get pregnant with banger's baby
  21. I stopped crushing after i hit 25, no point in hoping and wanting someone that you can't love fully. Love to me is based on levels of intensity, a crush is like playing call of duty modern warfare on easy It might seem good to play through the plot, but it's missing substance. You can crush after everything with two legs and an ass or dick, but you never really get anything intimate.
  22. Not my genre or generation, but still an amazing singer and individual. Hope we "shall overcome" his lost. R.i.p Pete
  23. I'm game for voyeurism anytime
  24. Sex is sex, all that matters is raw emotions.
  25. Love it and spacey:s portrayal of underwood was spot on, my favorite episode was the one he went back to his all boys military academy, but that episode is probably default good due to subject matter (hint: Frank still has a flame for a certain someone) Another episode was Frank physically assaulting the teacher union rep. after the brick incident.
