I’ll bet that Jeff is wrong and that he’ll be paying the $10 to Tracy. The reaction of all the boys seems to indicate that Darren is Gay. Stephanie has probably known that Jack is Gay even before Jack realized it. Darren is probably there is give advice to Jack about what it’s like to be Gay in college. I think a slightly higher percentage than normal of really good-looking men are Gay. Straight men usually don’t know how to make themselves look their best because they obsess about women and what women look like. Gay and bisexual men know what they look for in a man and usually try to emulate that in themselves. Naturally, not all Gay and bisexual men are good-looking. But I’m attracted to guys you probably think are unattractive. And plenty of guys love the very characteristics that I hate. ;–)

When your car tells you the door is a jar? If the Eighties is ancient, I hate to think what @Ivor Slipper calls me! ;–)

They finally got through the wedding and reception. ;–) All those playboy princes used to own Range Rovers, but now they have plenty of choices. They can pretend to be of the people and buy a Volkswagen or Volvo SUV, or they can show off their wealth with a Bentley, Lamborghini, or Rolls-Royce truck. Eric can even get a new Ranger if he wants to show off his country roots. ;–)

And I’m sure I’ve posted the brilliant witches’ scene by Master P (his rap name, of course)

Yay! Thanks for posting this, although I guess this song is not be confused with the Gershwin’s “She loves” 😇

I’m glad that the Major seems to have accepted his new living situation with Kevin & Ian. Our society doesn’t encourage different generations interacting together on a daily basis the way they did in the past. Few of us grew up with our grandparents living in the same house. People are so mobile, most of our relatives live far away, not nearby as they would have decades ago. Younger and older people can teach each other more than we realize… ;–)

I hope that Beccy & Jim are able to turn that white lie into the truth! I think Jason would be a great addition to their family. I know Danny would be happier too. ;–)

They were telling each other fibs while watching TV? ;–)

I was born in what became Silicon Valley, but lived in Hawaii (8 years) and San Diego (11 Years) as a child before returning to the Bay Area. Few outside the LA Basin love LA. The rest of us hate it for the sheer waste (water wasting habits, nouveau riche tastes, seemingly endless traffic jams, etc). Guess it’s a good thing you didn’t make it to the Bay Area’s world-class Wine Country. ;–) In the Sixties and Seventies, hippies used to congregate on Highway 101’s island’s in downtown Santa Barbara. They’d have their cardboard signs with their eventual destinations marked on them. This was when there were still stoplights and it was just a regular, but busy, surface street through town. The labels have changed, but the lure of California still draws in young and restless unemployed people with big dreams. The high cost of living, especially housing, prevents many minimum wage employees from finding permanent accommodations. Others have run into debt (as I did) or other troubles that cause them to lose their shelter. Personally, I don’t hand out cash, but I regularly donate to groups (which are not affiliated with organized religious groups) that help the poor. It is extremely difficult to escape homelessness. I managed it about 27 months after I was evicted only because I won my Social Security Disability case. Conjuring up instant housing sounds like the solution, but isn’t possible (nowhere to build that much housing; who funds the rent subsidies?) and doesn’t solve the actual cause of many cases of homelessness. Many, but not all, homeless people suffer from mental health or addiction issues. There aren’t enough spaces in programs to assist with those issues. There is a general lack of funding throughout the social services. The stereotypical homeless person you see is only the tip of the iceberg. Couch-surfers are counted as homeless by the Feds. People who live in their cars or RVs are also officially homeless. Most of those people are employed and/or are students. A significant portion of the homeless aren’t included in the official statistics because they either don’t think of themselves as homeless or are too embarrassed to admit their status to anyone. California is a victim of its own success. Visit California, spend all your money here, and go home! ;–)

You’d probably get a better reception for your jokes here in the US, especially in California. Even if we didn’t get the joke, we love Aussie accents! And there are lots of Australian expats here because there are so many similarities and parallels between Australia and California – but I wish we didn’t have so many groves of giant matchbooks (aka eucalyptus trees) on our dry hillsides! ;–)

Sadly, I’m one of them! I’m a failed perfectionist. And that exasperates my diagnosed clinical depression. ;–)

While we are still the largest producer of agricultural products in the US, we are now the fifth largest economy in the world because of our tech and biotech industries. We subsidize all those low-tax, mediocre-economy states in the middle of the US and the South. You might not like us, but you eventually imitate us anyway… ;–)

I thought you were Prince Eric of Charleston! ;–)

I think there are pretenders who claim the title even if no one recognizes them. Descendants of distant relatives who somehow managed to avoid guillotine. There are a few who claim to be the Russian Tsar too. And the Hawaiian King. ;–)

So somebody still wants to assassinate them. I don’t think that will ever end. The homophobes will never stop hating us just for being who we are. It’s kind of surprising that you never got into comic books. I remember liking them (as well as Mad Magazine), but never obsessed about them. They’re so close to the cartoons that you love. But you’d have probably loved Little Lulu and Archie! ;–)

I don’t think it’s ever safe to come out as an adult Belieber… ;–)

And he can always go back to performing in shopping malls too. ;–)

Which should be very soon! ;–)

We agree. He should return to his birthplace where they understand and appreciate him! Southern California mansions must be protected from egg-throwing foreign vandals. ;–)

What Your Man Bun Says About You

Counter-programming. Turn their major holidays into the dates for your major holidays. Force them to chose to attend one or the other. In a related manner, a very minor holiday became a major Jewish holiday in the US (Hanukkah complete with Hanukkah Bushes) because of its coincidental occurrence around the same time of the year! ;–) -

Coincidentally, the long-forgotten origin of the Easter Bunny’s association with the holiday! ;–) -
This is exactly what I was wondering. Thank you for the complete response. I can’t say I understand asexuality, but this goes a long way to clear up my remaining confusion. I had forgotten about the role hormones play in the process. Historically, the madonna-whore complex and related associations have polarized the categorization of women as either being good or very bad.

You didn’t start the CA (official USPS abbreviation) vs CA (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code, internet country code) rivalry. ;–)

So is the mop-bucket-peeing juvenile delinquent pop performer! Deport him! Deport him! Deport him back to Canada! ;–)

I’m sure you can’t make generalities about asexuals, but do most seek tactile intimacy from their partners? There is a stereotype that women tend to be less interested in sex than men. I suppose much of that comes from the historical combination of men deciding what they want (and when they want it) regardless of what women want (and enjoy) and the cultural expectation that women should only accommodate men and not enjoy the action. Clearly, when only one partner chooses the actions and activities (as in the past), the other is much less likely to be satisfied to the same level. It would be interesting to know the gender-split on asexuality. But even more than other aspects of the LGBTQ+ spectrum, the actual numbers are impossible to know because stigma prevents most from publicly identifying themselves. An additional factor is the fact that the identity is even less well-known than just about any other form of LGBTQ+. The fact that asexuals don’t have the sexual impulse to interact reduces the likelihood that they will form large social groups and institutions.
