LOL In hindsight it was a pretty good lesson about not expecting things to go the way your echo chamber says it will go. Anyway, so a Garret Hedlund lookalike? Nice. I had a thing for him around 2010 when he was getting a leading man push because of Tron. I remember him being a popular fancast for Finnick O'Dair in the Hunger Games: Catching Fire. I am enjoying the vibes between Will and Finn.

I interpreted the scene as Jeremy learning when and how to channel his bitchy energy at. Kind of like the scene in Mean Girls where it's revealed that Regina George has mellowed out because she has learned to direct her aggression towards other players while doing field hockey. In Jeremy's case, I think he's learning how to only do the bitch thing towards other bitches being bitchy towards him. Not towards people that are being nice towards him, ala Will or Travis.

It's been fascinating watching Armie Hammer desperately trying to revive his dead career. Kind of painful to remember how obsessed with his looks I was. Lol

Hey, Mark, I was wondering what your take is as someone who grew up in the Bay Area for the whole "California Forever" development plans. If you don't know what I'm talking about, California Forever is a planned medium density, walkable city planned to be built in Solano County. The plans honestly look great but obviously, people who expected to continue their rural lifestyle are upset about it. It was put on the 2024 ballot, then yanked, but now Rio Vista is having talks with the developer. I have an interest in urban planning and stumbled across this topic. It seems like a really cool idea on paper, but it kind of feels like another California City in the making. If even anything actually gets built. If you don't know what I'm talking about, California City is a 1960's failed planned city in the desert of Southern California that failed really, really badly. LOL I honestly get the feeling though that "California Forever" is going to happen no matter what at this point, no matter how much protesting people do. That might be why Rio Vista is having talks with the developer.

I kind of think when both Jeanine and JJ had recovered from their traumatizing storylines in Paternity it probably would have been a good time. Anyway, in the mid-2000's I was so obsessed with House Hunters and HGTV home renovation shows. Plus, being from a high-growth area like Delaware, you were just seeing developers everywhere pushing real estate. The town I attended my first year of college in had this local developer who was building pretty much everywhere and would put his initials on the buildings he put up. When the Great Recession crashed he killed himself. Pretty wild to think just what a shift the Great Recession was.

I know you make a shit ton of money from this world, but damn. The entertainment industry just seems to have all sorts of nasty little open secrets. I'll never forget a former ingenue named Sarah Polley who detailed being "presented" to Harvey Weinstein and getting herself the hell out of Hollywood because she didn't want to play the game. She retreated back to Canada and became an indie film director instead.

Nicholas Alexander Chavez (when he's being thoughtfully broody and not when he's being upbeat) would make a pretty good Tony fancast, I think. He's really hot but not in a cookie cutter pretty boy way, which is how Mark described Tony. I can also see him doing Tony's pretentious bullshit.

I wonder how that crazy little Latino twink Alejandro is doing. He was a fun character. Manu Rios from Elite is my fancast. Dude is just pretty as fuck: For those who don't remember, Alejandro is a flamboyant Latino twink we met when he was about 15 in If It Fits, which is set in 1995. Alejandro is the son of Mexican cartel boss* Joaquin, who Stefan and Brad met as a 12/13-year old street kid in The Land Whore. (Damn, that means that Alejandro must have been born before Joaquin's 20th birthday since we're assuming he was born in 1979-80.) Joaquin sent Alejandro to live in America because he knew that his flamboyant little cupcake was not really going to cut it with the machismo of the Mexican environment they lived in. *I don't know if it was actually stated explicitly that Joaquin was a Mexican cartel boss, but I thought it was heavily implied. He had a lot of power and I don't think it came through selling vacation homes in Punta Cana.

There's this 1970's now senior citizen former tv star named Judy Norton who runs a YouTube channel. She basically talks about her time being on a long running TV show called The Waltons, which ran on CBS from 1972 to 1981. (It was kind of like Little House on the Prairie but for the Great Depression.) The whole vibe is sitting down with Grandma and eating cookies while she tells you her life stories. I found something really sweet about the fact that she can connect with hardcore fans who still care about a show that ran 50 years ago.

Holy crap, it's getting real now. So yeah, I just finished the 3rd module of my paralegal training with a 93 class average. (Open notebook testing but that doesn't make it as easy as you might think it would be.) I'm throwing myself full force into this, and seeing where things go. I'll be at graduation before I know it! And then...the job search. I don't know if I'm really ready for that again, but I'm excited to find out where this all could take me. I've been pretty lucky that I have a pretty cool group of classmates to work with. We have a whole text chain going on where we bitch and vent about assignments or helpful hints to get us going. I'm just glad it's not grad school. Now THAT was intense. I thought about going back to grad school (maybe a library of science) but I just couldn't make myself go through it again. Also, in February 2025 news...Eagles win their second Super Bowl. Woo-hoo!

I don't know, though. Sometimes really traumatic shit changes how you are at a fundamental level. I went through an absolutely hellish period in my life at the end of age 27 and through the beginning of 29. I got through it, but I don't think I'm the same guy I was before then. It is sad though that Tiffany blew up her relationship with Jeremy at the '03 Nationals, and Matt just seems like he's fed up with Jeremy's shitty behavior but doesn't want to come right out and say it so he's just avoiding him.

It kind of has to, though. Matthew Bomer would have been a much bigger star if he hadn't been outed. Dude is a literal Ken doll come to life and talented as hell, and he's depending on Ryan Murphy and t.v. mini-series about the AIDS epidemic to keep him employed. Hell, it's 2025 and Richard Madden and Pedro Pascal are still playing coy. That's why I don't subscribe to the notion that gay roles in movies have to be played by openly gay men because we're not really in their head, therefore we don't know whether they really are or aren't. And even now, it seems like a detriment to someone's career to come out, particular if they're gunning for a leading man career. I think that's why they were particularly worried about Jeremy's relationship with Zanie, because they figured her for a golddigger who'd bleed him dry, but I don't think they actually had to worry. "Old money" people have it bred into them how to not blow their trust funds. That's why they stay "old money." LOL It's funny to think of Jeremy's lifestyle as being "modest", but in relative terms, it's not extravagant. You give him the New York City backdrop, his condo, his limo, some theater shows and art galleries to go to, and some gala functions, and he's a happy (so to speak) duck. Now we just need to find him an experimental off-off-off Broadway blackbox theater that he wants to write tax write-offs for and grateful theater kids who will kiss his ass for it.

As Mark has continually insisted whenever I bring up possible income streams for Jeremy, he doesn't give a shit about making money as long as it's there. Stefan is there to make sure he doesn't spend money faster than his trusts/stocks generates interest/dividends, and we're good from that. Jeremy's whole deal is being a socialite, although I will say a lot of them tend to come up with vanity "businesses" bankrolled by their family's wealth. In any event I think Jeremy's mainly going to be a strong supporter and patron of the arts. That's a pretty strong mark of a gentlemen of leisure, right? He can write checks and take the tax write-offs and then a ballet can be put on and Jeremy can pat himself on the back for making it all possible. (I'm snarking but as someone who grew up in the performing arts world, we need people like Jeremy. Delaware has a Surprisingly good arts scene for a state this small and it's because we had the du Ponts.)

JJ and Will are basically Irish twins. I kind of wonder if the dynamic would be different if they weren't as close in age. I mean we opened up to JJ being pissed that more people attended Will's graduation over him. Lol

I loved Jeremy thinking about the poor artists but then mostly about his image. 😂 Mark's got a pretty decent amount of room to grow with the character of Jeremy, because it's always two steps forward then one step back. Lol
