A delightful surprise, chapter 22 is up and posted. It picked up from the last chapter beautifully and just flowed...

So excited to see a new chapter, hope this isn't tasking you too much, but so appreciated. Granger so understands what is going on and the nuances of how to play the game, not only on his home soil but in foreign soil just as much. Daventry is off on the rest of his mission; can only hope that he succeeds, and history tells us he does; but at what cost. I am sure that if anything happens that Granger will make sure that his wife and child are more than well taken care of in the future. Have to wonder no longer than Granger is planning to be in town, how involved with Von Beckendorff he will become; but a steamy night in the frigid north would not be amiss. Story picked up and flowed beautifully.

What a delightful ending to the first book; but have to admit that I can't wait for the second one. The Emperor got the best of the first meeting with Jihan, but not sure that will always be the case. Have to admit, I expected a confrontation with the Empress Rushi over this. But that may still be to come. Andiya can "now" be married and her child can inherit the new family titles. Have to wonder how Jihan will like being a step-father??? Bravo...

Unfortunately, I am afraid what is happening in Davis is what would happen in real life if a situation like this came about for real. Rarely in human history have we ever done the right thing, for the right reason, at the right time; sure there are some that will but they never seem to be the norm, but the exception. As far as Sebastian, he might well have had a suicide capsule, not sure this group would have checked for that or known really where and how to check for it. Just take a deep breathe and know that we will be here when you are ready to give us the next chapter.

Lovely chapter, but I sense major drama ahead, the father come across in both person and what others say as not so caring about his own family and more interested in how others see both him and his family. I am going to guess the brother isn't dead, just did not get that vibe, so did he go to the other side or just disappear... Can't wait to see what happens next.

Oh, a little afternoon delight and with the beta; would not have seen that coming. I still don't trust Levi; there is nothing specific that I can put my finger on, but I just don't think he is fully committed to either Levi or the pack. It was really never established how Dorian got the silver poisoning; but with a wolf's sense of smell and taste, would not think it was orally. That being said, I guess you never know, and referencing my above statement, I don't trust Levi. Since this is our first encounter with Terry, don't have enough of a read on him. My mistrust of Levi makes me initially discount anything he says; so I have to question his analysis of the situation. If there is a mention of the merger in past notes; it make me feel better, but hard to put your faith in someone you know so little about. Plus, Levi could be trying to push out those that actually know there job to further make Dorian dependent on him. Excellent chapter, can't wait to see what happens next.

Great chapter, really well paced and written. Okay, what is the deal with the brother, did I miss something, is he dead or a bad guy now?

Had this story recommend; and so glad I decided to read it. Well written from start to finish and the pacing and characterization was truly first rate. The emotions conveyed were just so true to life; and like life itself, there was the good with the bad. This was a story were the auxiliary characters were so well developed; doesn't always happen, but it made the story so much better. There was not one throwaway in the bunch. A delight from start to finish; give yourself a treat and set down and read it; but make sure you have time to finish it because you won't be able to stop.

A truly beautiful ending to this story. I had someone recommend the story to me; and got through all 34 chapters in less than two days. It was very well written and the emotions that it contained were so well expressed. Like life, the story had the good and the bad; the happy and the sad; and life and death. Enjoyed this so much; a wonderful story.

I promise you; when you get to the Captain level or above in any police force, you won't die by a bullet but by an avalanche of paperwork.

Actually having Paddy break the news was one the best ways that it could have been handled. I still have a nagging feeling that something else is coming down the pike; but hope it isn't too severe. Another great chapter.

Why do I have a feeling that whatever it was that kept Paddy and Declan apart must really be a doozy.

I have to say, I was at least semi-expecting this after the comments in the cafeteria about how much they resembled each other. Unfortunately, there could be any number of reasons that the files did not have the information about the other one.

I have worked with several kids like Paddy over the years. It is truly amazing what happens when they find their family; and heartbreaking when they don't. So much emotion in the writing in this chapter, it was truly excellent.

Well, the shoe fell, but not in the manner I was expecting; although it still could with that much housecleaning. I think kids having pets can be a great thing. It can teach responsibility and so much more; if it is handled correctly. Glad to see that Stephen is doing better.

Everything just seems to be going too well; I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Well, Stephen was very lucky, it could have turned out much worse. Now we just need to find someone for Wade; he deserves a really good guy and a better partner.

Well, I hope they find Stephen. Being on the streets is especially hard on a person his age; and being outed in a community like that could honestly be a death sentence. It is amazing how small the world can be. I cannot tell you how often I am traveling somewhere and either run into someone I know or a friend of a friend kind of thing.

They baby flew way before I would have thought it was medically advisable; especially since she was premature. So glad that everything was handled there before returning to Kentucky. All of these rainbows and sunshine and lollypops has to mean something else is coming....

Glad they are handling as much as possible there; it will just be easier. Anna may cause issues down the road, but they will have to deal with that at the time. Adam is going to give himself a stroke if he doesn't unwind some; every parent is terrified at first; but he may be taking it too far.

Just a wonderful chapter, the love and joy just jumped off the page. I do think they need to establish everything in Connecticut if they can; would be much easier to get Ian's legal status settled there than in Kentucky.

Are we sure we really want to fill a missing person report? They might actually find her... Of course, with her disappearing like this, it will definitely make it easier for Adam and Ian to get custody, but I would want that settled in Connecticut and not in Kentucky. You could just feel the emotions rolling off the page on this chapter. Just so well done....

Oh, is Oliver a new addition that will bring something new to the story? Glad that Ian, Adam, and Paddy had the full discussion; best to get everything out in the open. I do think it will be a dirty fight with Anna, but I think the grandparents will support Ian and Adam.

Well, that was ac5ually less painful than I thought it was going to be. Glad to see that Adam and Paddy were still talking, or I guess really communicating. Still think Anna needs to die, horrible thing to say about a pregnant woman, after childbirth of course.
