A nice chapter easing Lord Granger back to sea... thank you Mark and team!

Wow… What an interesting chapter. I'm so glad that Mark will let us be a fly on the wall in JP's study to hear the discussion… I wonder how all of this will go down. Interesting scene between Mary Ellen and Matt. Matt may have rocked her boat, but I'm sure he will be paying for that physically for a little while longer. Can you imagine how Mary Ellen getting pregnant? That would really make for some more twisted family relationships! What will Brad do? I don't think that Matt is in any danger at all given the familial relationships. I wonder how long it will be before the Escorial hotheads meet up – it will be really interesting when Brad and Matt meet next. Would it be too contrived for our author to have Will there to mediate? Thank you Mark and team!

OMG! That sure is some heavy stuff that Will laid down… Hopefully the situation overwhelmed him and while he made some pretty powerful points, I think it was a little bit much. I'm really feeling sorry for Wade and wondering how badly this will affect him?

While some may grouse at the lack of any apparent action, I find that hearing the details of how ship is fitted out quite interesting. Things seem to be progressing very nicely for Lord Granger and his ships's company is growing, with many of the characters described in these first few chapters setting us up for what I'm sure will be an exciting voyage, full of action, of all sorts!

Interesting interchange between then and Brad about Will. I also like how Brad dealt with the Pedro situation and the likely correct assumption that Will was indeed keeping tabs on Brad to make sure that he was okay. I got a good little chuckle out of Brad for foiling Will's plan and was happy to see that he seems to be finally moving to a better place given everything that has happened. Wow – talk about a direction change! It was pretty nice of Brad to have a suit done for Ben and gracefully deal with how uncomfortable that was making Ben, and then to be quick enough to ask Ben to make something for him in exchange for the suit. I really enjoyed the interplay between Ben and Brad and got a really good chuckle when they were in the suite at the Fairmont given its layout. The scene in the restaurant and how he dealt with Ben and Sean's seeming instant attraction was also a surprising twist. I hope Brett is right in that karma is good to him if indeed been and Sean become a couple. Great scene at Escorial having mostly everyone together and being able to enjoy each others company – and a nice way to wrap up the chapter...

A rough start to the morning for Matt… I was concerned for a while, I'm glad he hung in there and got Wade to work through his morning after regrets and attitude! It looks like Brad may be in for a completely new wardrobe if you keeps running into been deliberately or otherwise. Soon we will see how Ben reacts to being dressed by Brad, I wonder how he will handle it? Perhaps he will handle being undressed a lot more easily? Loved the scene at the breakfast table with all of the principles involved – wondering if they were in some sort of other alternative universe? LOL thank you Mark & team – this one seemed way too short. I'll have to go back and look at the chapter summaries to see how many words we were given…

It sounds like George's new home is truly a magnificent sight to behold. Given his successes and the society that he moves in, it certainly was necessary to have a showcase/reflect on his achievements. It was certainly quite a shock to run into Horatio Hornblower at the end of this chapter. I greatly enjoyed those stories by CS Forester as he progressed from midshipman to Admiral. It will be interesting to see what Mark does with Hornblower and Granger…

At last! Handel's hallelujah chorus running through my mind… until the last paragraph. heavy sigh… perhaps, overtime Wade will realize that perhaps Matt is growing up and that he can safely be with him again. I love the whole exchange between Will and Matt. Like every other element in this series it was done with absolute believability. Every element seems to ring loudly with truth...

If Matt has the patience and can pull it off, perhaps he has a long-term strategy for getting back to wait even if it takes a couple years or more… Even though he ran into Will who gave him some pretty tough looks, when Will finds out from Wade what Matt did to bring him safely home, perhaps that will be the beginning of Will's thaw in attitude towards Matt. So what really seemed like bad luck might have been the luckiest thing that has happened to Matt in a long time? Thank you Mark and team for resuming the chronicles so quickly!

So sad… What Matt I had high hopes that his initial plan might work. Use of the SafeWord certainly snuffed that fire. Delighted to see the next book of the CAP Chronicles so soon! thank you Mark and team Arbour!

Nice to see/read that George will be back causing problems for the French and others again… Even better that he will have some of his favorite officers around him as he begins his new adventures... thank you Mark and team Arbour!

It is just not possible to fully express in words how much I appreciate the work and love you and your team poured into delivering this particular story as part of the overall CAP Chronicles... Nonetheless, thank you and million times over…

If we didn't have it from the author's mouth so to speak, that there were future stories to come, you could take this chapter and consider to be the closing of the CAP Series – so well did it go over the history of the family... Incredibly powerful chapter – what else is there to say? Thankfully this is not the end…right, Mark?

Well now that Wade has explained to Nana way he and Matt are no longer together, and having renewed his mostly physical relationship with Tiffany, will we see Riley with a new sibling nine months hence? It looks like Ethan has more or less been acknowledged and accepted into the family even though Emmaline tried to stir the pot. I just don't know what to think about Elizabeth… We have seen so much evil from her. The burning question is, what does she really want, and as she said, is she willing to pay the price to get it? As for the family accepting Wade as the de facto head of the Danfield clan, an interesting scene. While not quite the scene out of the Godfather, it made me wonder that if Matt came back to kiss Wade's figurative ring, would that be the beginning of the path back to Matt? With the current state of affairs between Wade and Matt I suppose a more appropriate scene analogy would be Michael's kiss of Alfredo, telling him that he broke his heart… While I know that Mark is busy tying up plot lines of this story book, I feel like I still want something more - not quite satisfied. But that is no fault of the author's writing. I guess we will have to see how this book closes out, and then how the next storyline opens to have a better understanding of where some of the characters will end up landing… Thank you Mark and team!

Let us hope that Zach and Gathan can build a better relationship…This looks like a promising start! With perhaps a nudge from Will this will be a certainty. Good to see a little bit of Ethan even if it was just in passing… Thanks Mark and team!

Very happy to read this installment… An interesting chapter all around and one that lets us catch our collective breaths, as appropriate and necessary apologies take place between Will & Frank. We shall see how JJ fairs and how his family will help him begin to finally deal with the events of 9/11. Though brief, the exchange between Will & JJ was very moving. It was an interesting exchange between Will and Zach as they discussed their relationship and where it is being pushed, and of course the concept of needing to be safe because of what will inevitably happen while they are apart. Part of me had hoped that Aaron would somehow work his way back into the storyline even though I felt it was unlikely due to the way that Mark had him walking away from the group when they were in Los Negros. It was difficult to read how vehement Frank was in his reaction to news of Aaron's passing. Though, recognizing what the family went through after he staged his death, it is understandable while at the same time, lamentable... I expect that somewhere over the next few chapters that Brad will have a meaningful interaction with Matt. The question is how will that go and that begs the question of, what about Tony? There is so much for them to work through, first somehow trying to break through to Matt and pull him out of the spiral that he is in; and second, will the sexual tension that had been between Matt & Brad reignite? As part of the Millennium storyline they both had stepped back from the dangerous abyss of giving into their lust for each other. With Robbie now gone, will those prior desires reassertion themselves and can that be part of a healing process for them - though more so for Matt? Since Brad and Wade have been together I don't see that as being necessarily a dangerous thing to happen. Maybe that is what Matt needs – a good head clearing fuck from Brad, followed by a meaningful conversation to help Matt begin to heal and also see what Wade needs. But will this get Matt on the correct path to work his way back to Wade's side? If Brad is able to help Matt, is there a role for JP in helping Wade see that perhaps he wrote off Matt too early as part of his own grieving process? There are so many different ways that this story can go and there seems to be way too much to wrap up in the remaining several chapters....

I'm also greatly anticipating the continuing story of George Granger!

I am sure that constructive criticism is always welcome. There have been a couple of reviews that I thought contained elements or comparisons that I felt were unnecessary and unwelcome. Mark and his team have consistently done an outstanding job providing us many many hours of entertainment and with the way that they work together, it is highly unlikely that the quality or consistency in storytelling would be allowed to slip. There are only a couple of authors whose work I read as soon as it comes out, literally dropping almost everything else so that I can read the latest installments of their stories – Mark is one of those authors. I will be anxiously awaiting the continuation of 9.11 and the CAP series as a whole.

Wow! I didn't expect Matt to move out the way he did, in fact, I expected him to try to plead his way back into Wade's good graces. Obviously I was off 180° on that one! And while I was so far off on that one aspect, just to pile on, Matt decides to live with Tony. what was that line from Apocalypse Now? "I love the smell of napalm in the morning!" While not the quite the right time of day to fit the line, it was close enough to fit the situation! Then dinner at Escorial… Oh my! The only thing that could be worse for Will would be to have this weekend be the one where Zach publicly denies Will... It is sad to see Matt and Wade so far apart – are they so far apart there is no way for them to get back together? Wade knows and said that Matt has truly crashed and burned. Question is, does he have any love left in his heart for Matt? No doubt Wade is hurting badly too and is somewhat shutting down in his own way. Will Wade take Matt bak if and when Matt rises from the ashes? Is looking real grim at this point... Thank you Mark and team Arbour...

I really enjoyed this chapter just like I have enjoyed all of the ones that came previously. As usual, it ended too soon as I would have liked to have seen/heard a Wade and Matt discussion. But as Mark has noted before, there have to be chapter breaks. Wrapping this chapter at the presumed end of dinner for Stef and Will was the obvious place. Does our author have a word counter to track length of chapters as he writes to help him make the breaks??? I did enjoy the conversation between Will and Stef. I think that the safe sex conversation towards the end was a good reminder for Will that he needs to have this discussion with Zach. I also thought it was quite telling and an indicator of his more mature moments that he knows it needs to be face to face and that he would have a tough time "forgiving" Zach if he has a weak moment and has sex with others. Know thyself... Now I just have to find something else to distract me until the next chapter comes out...heavy sigh!

Well if Matt did not get the message during the ride back to Escorial then the parting shot across the bow that Wade fired off, should do the trick! Thanks Mark, for winding us up some more…don't know how much more tension we can all take!
-
And here I thought that Will had already figured out that Zack's strategy was to throw off Brent and everyone else by seeming as if he was chasing Will like a gold digger. Now that they are actually tracking along the same line and recognized together, the challenges they face over the next few to several years, we will see how long this relationship can last... Thank you Mark and team for another excellent chapter!

As usual, great stuff all around… is so hard to get these little snippets of story even though I know they generally run easily to between 5k to 7k words. It's as though I can't get enough… Is this what a junkie feels like when he's looking for his next hit? It takes more and more to achieve the high. all I can say is that this is a happy addiction!
