This is the 2nd or 3rd chapter since Mark's brief sabbatical, though my first comments since his return... Welcome back Mark - Ihope you found your brief respite from writing a time to recharge your batteries! I must admit the rather bloodthirsty side of me was hoping to see Mr. Conway dangling from a yardarm by his neck...but since that might have befouled Bacchante's decks, perhaps the solution arrived at was best for al concerned. Happily the good crew and commanding officers seem to have returned to their normal happy state. It was also fun to read of the equatorial celebrations!

Another great chapter though now I will have to go to research the depths of the ocean floor off of Australia's coast to get a handle on just when the explosives might be set off. I can't wait for the goat to let another week pass being so close to a cliff. Speaking of cliffs - Just wondering if anyone has seen CJ lately? There was on Yahoo, a link to a video of a goat that has been stuck on a cliffside ledge for 5 days...apparently when rescuers approached he pulled a baffling move. Unfortunately Yahoo servers were having a problem so couldn't show the video. I wonder what that goat did? :-)

I'd suspect William of tampering with the feed for the horses if they just had Elder. Don't know if he is evil or twisted enough to put all of the horses at risk... Tanks for the new chapter Nightowl!

There just aren't words enough to convey the horror of what so many of our brave men and women have gone through as they've served our country. That picture though at the end, when combined with some of the descriptions in the story conveys much to those that choose to see... Thanks for sharing...

I can't believe that with all of the excellent observations form the postings that preceded me, that no one has thought to speculate on Shane's Aussie nickname? Or did I miss it? I myself can't even begin to imagine what it might be...how about some speculation from those that have close familiarity with the ways of "Down-Under"? Will the goat share the nickname? The holdout of the nickname is a coffee in it's own right? LOL Thanks CJ for for letting us see Shane get some more light back into his life!

Only the faintest scent of a cliff in the distance - I wonder when that print reporter will submit his story for printing? Enquiring minds want to know...I not only smell but see the edge of a cliff in the distance! Bridget sure seems to be pretty smug right now as is her norm. I wonder how quickly that will disappear when the asset list is published? Maybe the 3 heads that fear her will be emboldened to approach the big boss and point out what a bad idea it was to have the American woman in their midst...at that point I can see our dear Goat playing pieces of the story against each other...Which will happen first? Will Bridget get her just desserts before her contract is carried out by Gray against our boys and his family on K'burra? That will be a doozy of a cliff that even the Goat would be hard pressed to continue doesn't exist in his stories... Thanks CJ- I'm looking forward to seeing if my crystal ball is fogged!

Well I can say that this chapter was very much worth the wait. They all are really... ;-) I can hardly wait to see how Will will react when he meets Wade's family - it should give him a bit of a different perspective on his own life. Though really, I'm not certain how much he will see back there since they're likely to be on good behavior while he is there. Thank you Mark!

Is it just me or does time move glacially slow while we wait for Mark to give us another chapter; especially when we have these really tense times in the story line? Please sir, may I have another? ;-)

I hate these chapters - significant stuff gets stirred up and then the chapter ends leaving us hanging... ;-) Another great chapter as usual. How sad that Brad's moral compass has gone haywire. With the double barreled blast of Will and JP's presumed actions to come; Brad's world as he knows it is coming to an end. The question, how bad will it really be?

So, what are we to read into the lack of mention of Michael's presence in Will's observation of his family across the rink at the close of this chapter?

Are we saying that if we all weren't reading this online, that CJ could've been single-handedly (editing help please!) deforested the Amazonian rain forest?

But, but, where are his goggles? Is he out incognito?

And the rubber band justs gets wound tighter and tighter. The only good to come out of this chapter is the eminent departure of dear Michael, though I suspect it will not be quiet. Knowing Brad's "capabilities", I wonder just how Michael will depart?

I just noted that Benji's profile picture has him on top of and next to what look like cliffs...would these be the very same cliffs that our dear goat swears he doesn't use/haunt?

If the goat doesn't use Cliffies, then pray tell why do I feel like little pebbles and rocks are falling on me from above while I read the latest chapters of this great story? If the falling little bits of debris aren't from our dear goat stumbling about from above yon cliff, then what else could it be? Perhaps the leading edge of the avalanche of danger about to sweep down upon Trevor and Shane??? And I do wonder about the wieght of that metal...

There sure were some twists and turns in this chapter - high stakes poker indeed! I think we are far from done as I can see JJ using Michael against Jeff and Will should he discover their relationship. The question is will the fallout from that happen in Hamar or back in the US? I had curried goat in Jamaica a long time ago...very tasty! Tho' I suppose it would do no good to imply any harm to our own goat, should he displease us... I think he would be much too tough and stringy...

Hmph - the goat has put together an explosive mix of ingrediants placing our boys closer to perial. Atlantis sounds like a work of art; let's just hope that Trev & Shane get a chance to sail her home into many happy sunrises... Damn - need spell checking... Ingredients... Peril...
