  1. OK, I'm saying this in all good humor but... DUH!

    Psycho-boy

I slept fitfully that night. The image of that glittering buck knife kept coming back to me over and over. It made me a little sick to my stomach. I must have gotten loud a couple of times because my Mom came into my room to check on me twice. The next morning I hadn’t slept much and looked like hell. My folks went to church and Meredith, Scotty and Brian stayed home with me. As bad as it had been, it was almost worth it to partially heal the rift between our two families. It hadn’t really bee

Thanks- now you know why I can't stand country music.

I know what you mean. All you can do to acknowledge it is to "like" it, even if think it's appalling.

Pete's in prison forever. He got busted in the eighties for the same stuff and got hundreds of years of jail time with no possibility of parole. This is the danger of too many people knowing that a kid has been "outed". The predators out there, and there are some in every little town, are very interested in hearing about it.

    Lost & Found

Brian was great. I could tell that he was worried but he wasn't going anywhere. He knew that something bad had happened. He didn't push it. I just lay there in the floor curled up in a ball with my head in his lap. Everything was very weird. It's like my senses were at red alert but my energy was shot. It's not that I couldn't talk. I just didn't know what to say. How do you explain that! How do you say that a stranger put a buck knife to your neck and forced you to perform oral sex? Why cou
  7. I'm a pecs & abs kinda guy.
  8. You mean it's NOT!? But seriously folks- I call it spawning because it involves lots of flopping around gasping for breath. HEhehehe- I'm here all week folks. The 7 o'clock and the 9 o'clock shows are completely different!
  9. I'm too old to immigrate to Australia. (Maybe I could request asylum?) I've actually looked into it. I think I would like it there except for my insane fear of giant, rabid spiders.

    Dissonance

I don't know what came over me. I was numb. I was furious. I wasn't thinking right. I couldn't be lost. I never got lost. The whole damned county wasn't big enough to get lost. It wasn't too cold and my pace kept me warm. My pace and the anger that was boiling inside me had me burning pure adrenaline. Until Mrs. Turner's outburst, I had not really understood the true dimensions of Rainer's sick assed attack on us. Sure, I had heard from Brian what they thought that Doug had done, but me?

    Abomination

When spring semester started after Christmas Break, Scotty and Brian joined Coach T's class. I felt a lot better having Scotty close by where I could keep an eye on him. Foster and Steven welcomed the newcomers with open arms. Having us in the class actually helped Coach T. We had all come from Group 1 classes and could easily handle our work. We ended up helping our other classmates study. By the end of the first six weeks, everybody in Coach T's class had improved by a full grade point. Alt
  13. This is NOT a yawn. This is your cat's WAR FACE!
  14. New Years was a good time. Brian got one of his friends to get us some cheap wine. We spent forty bucks and got an ounce of weed. One dude was selling ludes for a dollar fifty a piece but the guy was just too shifty. Brian didn't trust him and I was skeptical about pills in general. Some dude tried to sell us some mushrooms but Brian wasn't buying. He said never buy shroons or do them unless you picked them yourself. Besides, with all the pasture land up near Clark's Pond, we didn't need to spen
  15. I can't even begin to answer that! It's almost always what I'm reading right now! I've read a ton of stuff- there is quite a lot of it that good for all sorts of different reasons. Some stories are important because they are socially significant in some way. Some are great because they are beautifully crafted. With others, you fall in love with the characters. Then there are those that take you on an adventure or are just plain fun. The what is your favorite author and story question is too limited in perspective. A better question might be what are you in the mood for?

    Collateral Damage

After Christmas Scotty's family piled into their station wagon for a New Year's trip to Tupelo. I hung out with Big John as much as I could without making a pest of myself. Thursday morning Big John and my Dad went to play golf and my Mom took my Grandmother shopping so I had a little time for myself. I decided to hit the trails and see just how high the new bike would jump. I packed a few goodies away in my backpack, locked up the house and hit the trails. My favori
  17. Down here in Mississippi, Sheriff's deputies tend to be the elected sheriff's worthless in-laws. They aren't very bright, tend to be bullies and are about as progressive as George Wallace.

    Broken

There's some dark and disturbing parts- much of it is NOT pretty. When I first posted it, someone emailed me that "Wow- you were really disturbed". No. You think? Yeah- we were messed up but blaming us for it was like blaming a pinata for getting hit with a stick.
  19. Put on your seatbelt. It's going to be a dangerous and disturbing ride. I barely survived it myself.
  20. Yeah- this isn't your basic happy happy, joy joy coming out story. This is about how screwed up it can be and the consequences.

    Witch Hunt

If this happened today, I have no doubt that parents involved would call attorneys and "release the hounds". Rainer and the local Scout organization REALLY deserved it. Back then they were shocked and embarrassed and didn't want anyone to know what happened. There's a reason why lots of organizations like to carry on their activities in the dark- they call it confidential for YOUR protection. That's not it at all. It is for THEIR protection.
