  1. When you start out, work on you core- chest, stomach, abs and stuff. You need to build a base to work up from. A strong core is the key.
  2. Graeme- this isn't a story that I wanted to write. I felt like I had to. There just isn't much written about those times. It took a long time to get to the point to where I could write it.

    Nightfall

Cole- Not nearly enough has been written about those times. There were just too many tragedies and so much trauma. People today just don't understand the fear. This was very early in the crisis. Before reliable tests and when the medical people were just as panicky as everyone else. We had a triumph. I understand why so many of the stories didn't get written. No one got out without scars.
  4. Those were different times.
  5. My 70s trilogy is finally complete and it's all hosted here at gayauthors.org It follows a small group of friends from Mississippi that learn that we need each other, how to be friends and lift each other up. We weren't saints and all of us got lost along the way at some point. Only together did we find our way. the Place in Between Getting to the Happily Ever After Nightfall
  6. edit: My very first moved in across the road when we were 6. Knowing what we were doing: We met at an arcade- I was 16, he was 15 but we were really only a couple months apart. I was dodging someone that I didn't want to see and, he decided that I was coming home with him.

    Last Call

Last Call The lights are down and the band has gone home, The place smells like stale beer, cigarettes and rust. No one is here because their life works too well, Lonely people drinking away another lonely night. It doesn't have to be the romance of the season, It would be enough if it were the romance of tonight.

    Nightfall

Thanks rustle. This is something that few people have written about and, I think a lot of people are uncomfortable with and avoid. We have to remember. It cost too damn much for it to have all been for nothing.
  11. Wow. 27 whole reads. I knew I rushed it toward the end but I didn't think it was that bad.

    That Guy

Time for a confession. As often as I do it, you would think I was a bloody Catholic. One of the biggest issues I had coming to terms with being gay was, in my time, that excluded you from ever being a dad. Sure- things are changing on that front. If I had the cash, I could adopt but I don't and I'm getting to old for it. So if you wonder why I am the way I am with the younglings, that's it. I may not ever be a dad, but if I can be that guy that tells you that you have value when you feel worthless or gives you hope when you feel hopeless, that gives me meaning. That's who I am and, I'm pleased to be that guy. Somebody has to be and it might as well be me.
  15. This one is fun: the Cloud (short, suspense, mystery, scifi) So is this one: the Metamorphisis (short, OMG ) And this one: An Awkward Moment (short, coming out... unplanned)
  16. There's less and less intelligent life here on earth every day. Colonists are already being booked for Mars. So... who is going? What will you do on Mars? Me, I think I'll open a Spoo Ranch. Sure- Spoo are depressing little creatures, always sighing because they know they exist to be eaten, but they do taste like chicken. Dip them in buttermilk, sprinkle them with lemon-pepper, roll them in flour and fry them up!
  17. A lot of people think I would be... uhhh how do I put this delicately... rough. I hate to disappoint, but I just don't roll that way. OK, OK... I know. Too Much Information.
  18. No- in some ways... sigh... I'm gay challenged. I ride the short gay bus. In Mississippi, we don't see much of the culture. I heard of a gay bar in Hattiesburg and tried to go. They wouldn't let me in. They didn't believe I was gay and, were afraid to let someone my size in. It almost happened again in Biloxi but and acquaintance saw me, verified that yes, he is gay, big as a house but not really dangerous unless you hand him tequila shooters. OK- long story.
  19. I've never been to "brunch". I just eat cold sausage & biscuits when I'm hunting and too busy to eat breakfast.
  20. We are always among the elite in every generation. Artists, musicians, authors, poets, scientists- not as also rans, but true stars. Given an even playing field, we always excel because we do have gifts. It's one of the reasons that pathetic normals fear and hate us.
  21. Hello from Devil's Scrotum, Mississippi! You don't have to be bat-shit insane to live here... Well, actually, you do.
  22. Make no mistake: someone will pay dearly for this outrage. You must sleep sometyme hooman... forever!
  23. Spring Break Derps to you!
