  2. Blowing in the Wind - Bob Dylan Bob Dylan - Blowing in the Wind How many roads must a man walk down Before you call him a man? Yes, n how many seas must a white dove sail Before she sleeps in the sand? Yes, n how many times must the cannon balls fly Before theyre forever banned? The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind, The answer is blowin in the wind. How many times must a man look up Before he can see the sky? Yes, n how many ears must one man have Before he can hear people cry? Yes, n how many deaths will it take till he knows That too many people have died? The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind, The answer is blowin in the wind. How many years can a mountain exist Before its washed to the sea? Yes, n how many years can some people exist Before theyre allowed to be free? Yes, n how many times can a man turn his head, Pretending he just doesnt see? The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind, The answer is blowin in the wind.
  3. One Tin Soldier by Lambert-Potter, The Original Cast One Tin Soldier by the Original Cast Listen, children, to a story That was written long ago, 'Bout a kingdom on a mountain And the valley-folk below. On the mountain was a treasure Buried deep beneath the stone, And the valley-people swore They'd have it for their very own. Go ahead and hate your neighbor, Go ahead and cheat a friend. Do it in the name of Heaven, You can justify it in the end. There won't be any trumpets blowing Come the judgement day, On the bloody morning after.... One tin soldier rides away. So the people of the valley Sent a message up the hill, Asking for the buried treasure, Tons of gold for which they'd kill. Came an answer from the kingdom, "With our brothers we will share All the secrets of our mountain, All the riches buried there." Go ahead and hate your neighbor, Go ahead and cheat a friend. Do it in the name of Heaven, You can justify it in the end. There won't be any trumpets blowing Come the judgement day, On the bloody morning after.... One tin soldier rides away. Now the valley cried with anger, "Mount your horses! Draw your sword!" And they killed the mountain-people, So they won their just reward. Now they stood beside the treasure, On the mountain, dark and red. Turned the stone and looked beneath it... "Peace on Earth" was all it said. Go ahead and hate your neighbor, Go ahead and cheat a friend. Do it in the name of Heaven, You can justify it in the end. There won't be any trumpets blowing Come the judgement day, On the bloody morning after.... One tin soldier rides away. Go ahead and hate your neighbor, Go ahead and cheat a friend. Do it in the name of Heaven, You can justify it in the end. There won't be any trumpets blowing Come the judgement day, On the bloody morning after.... One tin soldier rides away.

  5. If I feel safe, it's no problem. Otherwise it's nobodies business but my own.
  6. I've tried single and relationships and at this stage single works best. Guys my age carry their baggage in over-loaded tractor-trailors. I tried younger guys but my stripper ran off when I ran out of ones to stick in his speedo. Now I'm happy to hang with my cats rather than abuse myself with psychos or Ho's
  7. Are you as hot as SIX?
  8. How about adding another option: E. Suggest a 3 way
  9. And I thought playing in the mud was a southern thing.
  10. I am rage. I am the eye of the storm. I am the energy the battle and the sting of war. I am the pain of old wounds and new. I am the asshole that won't give, the bastard who won't budge and the pervert that doesn't give a damn. I am the rude finger and other times the fist. I am that gay guy or that fag that makes people look in wonder and disgust. I am the guy that gets fired for no apparent reason. I am the guy that keeps fighting long after its over too make sure the next one knows that its going to hurt. I am the guy that wears his scars like a badge of honor- not hiding them in shame but showing them in blame. I am a SOB and a sweetheart, a jerk and genteel, a contradiction and a constant. I am the person you know and the one that you don't. I am broken in some ways but stronger than steel in others. I am the stranger among you and guy you meet on the bus that you feel like you've known for years. Pleased to meet you Hope you guess my name. Ah, whats puzzling you Is the nature of my game. _____________________________ Billy Joel, The Stranger Well we all have a face That we hide away forever And we take them out and Show ourselves When everyone has gone Some are satin some are steel Some are silk and some are leather They're the faces of the stranger But we love to try them on Well we all fall in love But we disregard the danger Though we share so many secrets There are some we never tell Why were you so surprised That you never saw the stranger Did you ever let your lover see The stranger in yourself? Don't be afraid to try again Everyone goes south Every now and then You've done it, why can't Someone else? You should know by now You've been there yourself Once I used to believe I was such a great romancer Then I came home to a woman That I could not recognize When I pressed her for a reason She refused to even answer It was then I felt the stranger Kick me right between the eyes Well we all fall in love But we disregard the danger Though we share so many secrets There are some we never tell Why were you so surprised That you never saw the stranger Did you ever let your lover see The stranger in yourself? Don't be afraid to try again Everyone goes south Every now and then You've done it why can't Someone else? You should know by now You've been there yourself You may never understand How the stranger is inspired But he isn't always evil And he is not always wrong Though you drown in good intentions You will never quench the fire You'll give in to your desire When the stranger comes along.
  11. The media has done such a hatchet job on the Internet that parents are scared shirtless of it. They think a perv is going to jump out of the cd-rom bay of their computer and abduct their kid. The school boards say "filter" and parents are predisposed to go along with anything regardless of how stupid or overboard. We all know how level headed and reasonable people in school administration are, especially in the sticks where they fondle snakes and kindergardeners in church.
  12. There is no way to prevent dangling characters. It would be nice to get to know every cute delivery boy, the nurse at the clinic or interesting old man you meet at the bus stop but that's life. You only get a look, a few words or maybe a short conversation and then they are gone.
  13. One of the cool things about this place is you'll get more hugs than judgement... and a word about keeping your head and taking care of yourself.
  14. Myr- you rock! You've accomplished so much with GA! You have my respect and admiration. Have a great Birthday and many more. My loyal army of cats salutes you.
  15. Yes, of course you are right. But he would make a satisfying thump when he hit the floor as my "argument" struck home. :chris:
  16. I have an idea... let's get some trucks and lots of really big mean looking guys and go grab random Mormons, hardline Catholics and Fundamentalists and show them what its like. We can beat the crap out of some, sexually assault a few with broom handles and maybe drag a few to death. We could even beat one within an inch of his life and leave him tied to a tree in a remote area in freezing conditions. Turn about is fair play after all. They need to understand the horrible deaths that some of our people have faced because of their ignorant bigotry. I'm kidding of course but I think you get my point. The Hendersons and Kenneys (the murderers of Matt Shephard) were just criminals who had absorbed the message that gay people are subhuman/weak/vulnerable/easy prey and nobody really gives a shit about them. It is the source of these messages that I want to bring the point home too: the Pope, the leadership of the Mormon Church and people like Pat Robertson and Joe the f-ing plummer who claim that they[gays] want your children. These are the people I would like to explain it too personally.
  17. Don't you know when that Bad Robot shows up (J. J. Abrams production company) insurance rates soar and there's going to be death and destruction on the planetary scale. One thing I liked about the show: technology wasn't nice and neat and contained in black boxes. The engineering spaces were crowded, busy places with pipes and cables and junction boxes that sprawled. Not like the antiseptic version you get with NextGen, etc. The old Enterprise looked like it did during the TOS episode "The Cage" which showed flashbacks of the Enterprise under Captain Pike. They pulled a lot of threads together to weave this story.
  18. If you look at what the philosophers at the time were doing, you would see that most of it is derived from their culture and myths/religions. The myths of a people explained their world like Vulcan's Hammer and thunder or the universe as the Ever-tree in Norse mythology. A person is not immune from these myths and symbols and we have seen many examples of advances in science and thought being opposed by popular and religious leaders. Copernicus, Newton, Jenner all faced the ire of the "church", then the arbiter of truth and very pissed off when anyone came up with a truth that they couldn't explain or attribute to Jebus It has been the pattern for eons that a vitki/truth-seeker/man of knowlege has to look beyond the myths/legends/superstition and religious dogma to View the universe objectively Understand that truth is not static Understand that nature reveals herself slowly, if at all with all due respect to Plato, Aristotle and the Pope, there is still a lot of worthwhile things to learn learn about science and nature

  20. It's physically impossible for a Cajun to be a vegatable-tarian. twigs, seeds and nuts VS seafood gumbo? tofu and nuts VS shrimp Creole? I don't think so.
  21. The next generation torpedo is called the mark 55 and is part of the navy's highly classified Brilliant Saber program which focuses on using AI, muti-spectral sensors and image recognition for targeting. Brilliant Saber has been around for quite a while and is rumored to have had something to do with the downing of TWA flight 800 in 1996. USS Normandy was testing a SM-2 Block IV Extended Range SAM. It was reported to have destroyed the drone it was targeting but some sources say that it missed the drone and fell back on its Brilliant Saber guidance and slammed into the airliner at mark 7 150 miles NW off the test range. DOD has consistently denied that the Brilliant Saber project is still underway but the key project members have been at Naval Surface Warfare labs for the last 20 years. Image recognition technology has recently been deployed on the developmental Tri-Service Standoff Attack Missile (TSSAM) and the deployed AGM-158 JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile). {Disclaimer for the FBI- no classified information has been revealed that is not available via other sources. AND Yes, we know about your bullshit over TWA flight 800}
  22. Wolfram is the brains behind the software called Mathmatica and a major book on cellular automation. This guy is an amazing individual and I'm excited to see what he has come up with.
  23. The mark 48 torpedo was first deployed in 1972 and the ADCAP (ADvanced CAPability) was deployed in 1988. It is designed for use by submarines against high performance surface or submerged targets. Over the course of its life, the Mark 48 has had 7 major and numerous minor upgrades and maintenance bulletins. Torpedoes are notorious for being difficult to maintain. They are designed for use in a salt, sea air environment that promotes corrosion. They are complex devices that sit on the shelf for decades sometimes before they are used. Aborad summarines that are subject to shock, salt water, rough handlining and, operation at steep angles. mk 48 used during exercises
  24. And many more my friend!
  25. scum is better. Scum you can drain off. Santorium is more like a painful rectal itch: a constant irritant that you dare not scratch and you can't ignore.
