Thanks for the tips guys. There is a whirlpool at the gym, tomorrow I'm going to submerge. For now, it's motrim. A suppliment with magnesium and zinc will help the body gain muscle mass, and also ramp up your sex drive I'm not sure that's a good idea. The eye candy at the gym is going that just fine.

It's been a while since I belonged to a health club but I joined one this week. Working out is supposed to be good for you but I feel like I've been beaten? Ow, ow, ow, ow! My pecs feel like a big fat guy has been walking on them with cletes. Any suggestions for how to get rid of the soreness?

From Broken, Chapter 2 Scotty had something really special going for him. He was just so cute and so much fun that it was ridiculous. Some of the most forbidding and stern adults would melt in his presence. One Christmas he was the photographic model for a Christmas card angel of all things. Sure- you could get mad at the little guy but good luck trying to stay that way. He would look up at you with those big, blue puppy dog eyes and you would melt on the spot like so much butter on a hot roll. Here is how I described Scotty in my story Broken. Any way that works I suppose but if you are careful and crafty, you can paint a picture of your character and let the reader fill it in with his imagination. Here's another method. I'm just too damn tall. It makes me somewhat clumsy and awkward. I'm always tripping over my size 12 feet. My buddy Sam calls my shoes kayaks and threatens to take them out to some white water. I don't know. I guess tall and skinny beats short and fat but did I have to have red hair? Cripes, I look like a lit match! With a name like Shawn, I'm so Irish that I might as well just go strait to Alcoholics Anonymous and save myself a lot of trouble.

Do keep in mind- Billy is what- 15? Sure adults may have read Jimmy's behavior as dangerous or suicidal but Billy is a kid. Sure- there is a lot of suicide awareness stuff out there now but how many kids are going to put all the pieces together? It's not like Billy doesn't have a few things going on. Betrayal by his best friend, his parents splitting up, etc.

Dom That's the kind of data that nobody wants to process. It's an ugly fact of life that we all discover that people that we care about have feet of clay. Dom- I know what it's like to get stuck on a chapter. In fact, I addressed the subject in my blog (the Paralysis of Over-Analysis). Non-authors sometimes don't fully appreciate the impact of real-life on an authors output. Like say... it's very difficult to crank out a story when your power is down for a week after a hurricane. As writers, we're vulnerable to all of the time consuming stuff that everbody else is like weddings, funerals, family reunions, overtime... or the many things that can make life hectic and crowded. So... I understand. -JS

Nick- Judging from your posts, you're pretty smart for 14. It souldn't take you too long to beat down the homework beast. When I was your age, I hated this time of year because I had a summer hangover. I'd get used to all that time and freedom and there were much more interesting things to do than school. It wears off after a while but it's a real pain for a few weeks. Just think happy thoughts of long weekends, thanksgiving and Christmas Break. Oh- and try and fit in some fun along the way.
