I've been there, in that waiting room and I could have written chapters on the things that go through your mind, the way that panic becomes routine. I tried to keep it fairly short for now though because there are other more important things to focus on. There will, however, be plenty more waiting time to experience later on
Fortunately, Kei knows his parents well enough to make sure they can't push Alex out. I'm quite impressed he had the foresight. I had no idea I was going to write that bit until Kei nudged me at the time I was writing. I hadn't thought about them muscling in and alex out. Anyway, it didn't and isn't going to happen.
As for the experience opening their eyes... Unfortunately some people don't want their eyes opened, at least not in certain areas. we certainly see them in a more human light, with their own vulnerabilities and weaknesses. In a way they do love Kei and Kei definitely has a desperate desire to be loved by them. Fortunately there are many other people willing and able to satisfy that desire.
