  1. Hrm... should I say something, or should I not... decisions, decisions... Factoid: Zachary's mother died about six months prior, and he's been trying to sell the house ever since. (Without success). Factoid: The closest college is in the city, which is long enough of a drive that commuting isn't practical on Robert's budget.
  2. Hrm... guess the contest idea was a flop. So... since the fact that they are gay and in a relationship is already out, I guess that's that. I'm currently writing 'decision', unfortunately I'm not sure it'll really form a second short story like I'd originally intended/hoped. (And on top of that, I've got an even better short story now). So... I'm probably going to have to take 'Choice' and turn it into the first chapter of a larger story. Which in some ways is good; no one is going to believe some of the plot twists I already have planned, and more room to execute them in will make them even better. As for what Zachary is going to decide to do... Well, I framed the question very, very, very carefully. Call the cops, or don't call anyone. (Edit: And yes, this is an official notification that I'm not going to write a second short story for these guys. They may show up in a novel length piece later. Maybe. But not another short)

    Whoa

That wasn't made purely at you; that was made at a lot of people who do similar things. It's just assumed that you have a facebook account these days, and it ticks me off. Edit: I'm sorry I lumped you in like that, jumping to an unjustified assumption as I did. My apologies.

    Whoa

It's important for people to remember that however popular twitter, facebook, myspace, digg, reddit, stackoverflow, or a dozen other sites are, they aren't universal, and relying on them is just plain stupid. Don't feel 'out of it' phana; it's other people making completely unjustified assumptions about what we do, and do not, have an account for and an interest in.

    Whoa

Can anyone tell those of us who neither have nor desire a facebook account WTF is going on?
  6. That. Was. BEAUTIFUL! HILLARIOUS!
  7. Yeah, agreed; the fourth one seemed like something of a stretch. The third one ended 'just right' in so many ways.
  8. Nothing to be sorry for
  9. A great chapter indeed, and I can hardly wait to see where this goes. Even if this doesn't seem to be aiming to answer all the questions from the previous stories...
  10. You know what, I'll just say it aloud: the condom line is because Robert is allergic to latex. Severely allergic. (Something that, amusingly enough, can turn up on a routine physical...) That said, I'm sorry on the formatting thing. I've toned the color on my personal website down a few notches, and made a few other minor changes that have improved it, but there isn't a lot I can do with this piece. Unfortunately, I don't have an issue with it on my end (high-end computer monitors: good idea! ), so I didn't realize it would be an issue.
  11. You'd be surprised by how many published authors break or simply ignore those rules. Frequently.
  12. And your point is....? Those aren't part of what it's meant for. It's a random gamble every time you open a file. You're exposed to a wide variety of random stories, ranging from the 'bodice-ripper plus' pure sex stories to deep, thoughtful, meaningful novels, to anything in between.
  13. WTF does anyone care if he's kissing a girl? Is there something I'm missing?
  14. Hrm... wish I had more warning I'll have to think on it. Not sure I can get it written and edited in time.
  15. A lot of the comments were pretty subtle; if no one gets anything after a while I may extend the deadline and post blatantly a part of what they add up to. After which I suspect the totality will become apparent, even as some specific details continue to make no sense. (For example, the true importance of the condom, which in and of itself strongly suggests Richard's innocence).
  16. I'm sorry, but this is just about laughable. As a writers/readers resource to post for exposure large number of stories, or to simply continually find new and interesting stories, it's just about perfect. It's not meant to compete with e-fiction, hence why it doesn't have all the extra features. Now, the prolific author's section could use more work, but honestly a little effort from the writers can improve that situation a lot (i. e. maintain lists internal to your own story about your other stories).
  17. Anyone who didn't want to leave DNA evidence behind Perhaps a hint is in order... I'm rather surprised that no one has picked up on any of the other 'hidden' comments; this board is one of the place I'd expect to be most sensitive to them, almost to the degree of expecting them.
  18. I love Tanya Huff I haven't ready her blood / smoke series yet, but I've read the keeper ones, and loved them to pieces. I've also read the quarter's series, and those are good too. Enchantment Emporium was great, and so was Valor. Um... I think I like her too much, perhaps?
  19. From the sound of things, I'm going to be getting the same problem in reverse with the new system (I write using HTML, and want to be able to just post the HTML formatted text into the box). So I feel for you.
  20. Rewritten, huh? I guess maybe I should hold off for the rewrite
  21. A great story, with a great ending. I look forward to seeing where this goes!
  22. A good story, with a wonderful ending. Beautiful.
  23. It's a great story... And now, apparently, I need to track down the other Psionic Corps story! (Edit: Stupid question, where is it?)
  24. A good short story. Very, very good, well done, and meaningful.
