  1. That was a pretty good scene. It really gives the impression of Dumbledore as an unimaginably powerful wizard... And Voldie is this guys equal?! (Don't forget, that's what Dumbledore can do when he's extremely weak, almost crippled...) Still, there were some other good lines / scenes. "I thought you can't apparate inside Hogwarts". "Well, there are some advantages to being me." I'm not sure I like the new take on apparition, but overall I enjoyed the movie.
  2. OK, apparently we aren't looking at the same link...
  3. You wish, he's just in tan-colored tightey... erg, not tightey whiteys, tightey-tanneys?
  4. That did look pretty interesting.
  5. Don't forget, he'd promised to obey Dumbledore without question. Dumbledore ordered him to stay below, and hidden, no matter what happened. Keeping an oath like that is... right! Dumbledore has consistantly and reliably shown his habbit of keeping secrets, giving unexpected surprises, and otherwise making a fool of anyone who thinks he knows what's going on. Harry had no way to know that this time, Dumbledore didn't have an ace up his sleeve. (Well, for those that read the books, technically Snape was his ace up the sleeve...) And lets not forget that until Snape actually cast the killing curse, Potter had no way to know that's what Snape was going to do.

    Rubber Boy?

Is there any kind of humor better than 'puerile'?
  7. I like most cheeses, but a few (limburger) I can't stand. Oh, and there are some cheeses that I like in meals but not by itself (there's this one that's used a lot in italian cooking, but I can't remember the name of it...)
  8. Happy birthday! Try to avoid the birthday spanking!
  9. I haven't seen the movie yet, but they practically had to rush it, and it's only going to get worse with the next one. Even split into two parts, it's going to be bad!

    Rubber Boy?

David, not all of us are naturally... flexible... to that degree. Trust me, if we were there'd be a lot less pressure to find someone else to... well, entertain ourselves with.
  11. Immune to aids?! Wow! I didn't know that was possible!
  12. I haven't actually seen the episode... but I know a little bit about the series. Sure, the Doctor would never even think of using time travel to 'undo' something he's done... But the rift doesn't always play by the rules, does it?
  13. BTW, I was just trying to point out the hilarity of taking a couple into custody (therefore preventing them from leaving) before calling the cops.
  14. That will be all.
  15. I'm sorry, but something that should have been a public sidewalk should not be held under the church's rules. Past that... the article doesn't give anywhere near enough information to judge the situation.
  16. An editor goes in and hunts down all the stupid typos; a beta reader reads the piece and gives a 'reader's feedback' to the author. And if you want a somewhat-decent but not great editor... my e-mail is always open. (Oh, and I can beta-read too)
  17. Just as a joke... (And I'll admit it's probably only funny because I really did have the story idea the other day, and just couldn't make it 'work' because I don't see Obama instituting the draft... period the end!) You can probably avoid the draft pretty easily; I just had an amusing story idea the other day that revolves around the draft being instituted, and the main character deffering himself on 'moral' grounds: "I won't serve in the military because DADT prevents me! I'm telling you I'm gay!"

    Rubber Boy?

Yeah, the shoulder blade thing was creepy. But one thing that had my eyeballs popping was when he bent over so that he had his own head buried... well, let's just say I'd love to bury my head there! Ooooh yea!
  19. Um, did someone forget to throw up spoiler tags? Also, what are you talking about... the third season, as yet unreleased in the US (I think, since I don't get BBC America)
  20. When you put it that way, it really doesn't sound that great! Of course, if you were a white, male, straight American I imagine it was quite good Economy was booming, people were upheld to a 'higher' standard of conduct, those uppity women knew better than to cause trouble in your house, etc etc.
  21. Yeah, those paintings are pretty cool.
  22. It's also great for working with editors, especially when you have multiple editors or beta readers all making comments.
  23. So I'm not the only one who prefers to read 'on the go' using a smartphone? (Palm Treo for me) (Mind you, my main problem has less to do with font sizes, and more to do with fancy web formatting that my palm can't read right for some insane reason)
  24. Well, had not have... and as far as chat goes, that's what God created telephones for!
