Happy Birthday, Matt!!

I must admit that I preferred watching sports more than playing them growing up though being born and raised in the Philippines meant that basketball was pretty much a requirement. Sucked at it but played it anyway. Also played badminton competitively during high school and university but haven't participated in a tournament in a few years. Only other thing I really played was 10 pin bowling. Was part of a league growing up since my grandparents were very into it.

This Christmas is the first Christmas that I'm spending away from my family. All of them are back in the Philippines visiting relatives while I'm here in Vancouver so Christmas will be filled with watching sappy movies with my two dogs. The holidays before meant being with family and reflecting on the year. That's probably the same for me this year even though the first part of that isn't happening.

Speaking of playoffs, when's the hockey playoff pool starting?

It's been dropped from the core sports, but it hasn't totally out yet right? It could still be there as an additional sport. I know it doesn't make the fact that it was booted any less outrageous but at least the potential is still there for them to smarten up and include it.

Definitely chess. My grandfather taught me how to play when I was six and I just remember playing against him for hours whenever we visited. It was our thing and we still talk about the game whenever I call them. I also absolutely love the strategies and tactics involved in the game, and I even have a small chess board set up on my head board where I play against myself every now and then.

I play chess either over the board or online. My grandfather taught me how to play and it has stuck with me. Baking and reading are also things I like to do. I've also just recently started learning how to ski so hopefully that sort of becomes something I do regularly once I learn how to ski properly.

My parents gave me a watch. It's a really beautiful watch but I don't really wear wrist watches. I haven't for probably close to a decade now so that watch will probably be in its case beside my bed for a while.

Very nice story and absolutely loved the ending. It would be quite interesting to see the continuation of this.

Has there really been no coverage of it in the US? I hear about it every day here. I do miss it though. I want to see the Canucks struggle at the start like always only to slowly improve and build some momentum around January. Then maybe they can do well in the playoffs again. Plus if there is no season, how can I defeat whoever it was that won the last hockey playoff pool?
