Impressions and Reflections - 2. Poem 2: Locked

Locked inside a barren landscape

The world beyond makes me grimace

Not a flame of light can be seen in the great beyond

Let me open the door and see beauty asunder

The day the beauty returns shall beckon delight

Locked in a world where nothing is right

The emptiness within poisons my spirit

Not a day goes by when I think not of what should be

Let me rest and find tranquil dreams of splendor

The day I find my place in the world is nearer

Locked in a mind unwilling to be placid

The cerebral storm brews to enormousness

Not a night am I allowed sleep of needed restoration

Let the storm be quenched by the forgiving sun

The day is upon me and steadfast I will be

Locked inside a cage made of guilt and sorrow

The mistakes are like stabs of pins and needles

Not a moment seems to pass where I have congeniality

Let the peace reign for the remainder of my days

The day is a time to be thankful for life
