Impressions and Reflections - 4. Poem 4: Shades of Gray

Shades of Gray

Shades of gray are the source of life’s uncertainty
The future is promising but the past unbearably painful
I am at the crossroads seeking guidance and strength
There are bridges in need of mending and reinforcement

Shades of gray cause me great anxiety and frustration
The times have been difficult though waiver I shall not
I am climbing the mountain and searching for light
There are people who I have wronged tremendously

Shades of gray with their bleak and uncertain nature
The world is not as simplistic as I once thought it was
I am reflecting on dire errors in judgment of yore
The history of my life can reveal useful knowledge

Shades of gray in the magnificent sky as far as one can see
The world can be an apocalyptic, enduring nightmare
I am wandering through the depths of the wretched earth
The solutions do not come even if they are significant
