Impressions and Reflections - 11. Poem 11: Broken Roads

They lead to nowhere...

Broken Roads

Broken roads lead me to where I ought not to be.
I want to find the place where my heart belongs.
They always seem to be so close just to slip away.
When can I finally hold onto the reliable man?

Broken roads lead me into only miserable days.
I want a man who will always be there for me.
They always seem wonderful for a short time.
When can one truly be good for me?

Broken roads make want to fucking scream.
I want to be free from the pain they cause.
They always seem great for a short time.
When can I find one to last forever?

Broken roads are the story of my existence.
I want to find the one who won’t destroy.
They are always damaged beyond repair.
When can one just always be mine?

Broken roads remind me of the darkness within.
I want to be free of the endless look of pain.
They always find my weaknesses and exploit.
When can I find a man who is all about me?

Broken roads remind me that I must be damaged.
I want to be rid of the suffering I always endure.
They always bring me pain and I cannot fight.
When can I find a quiet place to stay?
