Impressions and Reflections - 1. Poem 1: Chains of Pain

Barely able to sleep at night

Chained by the turbulent mind

Distant from the light

Destined nightmares reign

Darkness consuming energy

Villainy like a dagger through the heart

Barely awake enough to care Chained to the wall in defeat

Distant from the joys of life

Destined to feel more pain

Darkness consuming all hope

Villainy like a torture chamber of the mind

Barely alive with desperation’s song

Chained by miserable quandary

Distance from the echoes of angels

Destined to feel omnipotent wrath

Darkness the ever-shining light

Villainy like capture and enslavement

Barely able to breathe without anger

Chained by the ever-present burden

Distant because of harsh truths

Destined to feel pain for a time

Darkness slowly fades into oblivion

Villainy sooner or later slain by heroism
