Impressions and Reflections - 8. Poem 8: Who is He?

Who is He?

He is the restless one who often wants everything right now
Little chance is there to pacify his need for attention
There is never a moment when his mind is not contemplative
For he is always in need of the constant flow of information

He is the one who can hide his pain behind a façade to the world
Little chance is there for him to allow someone to light the way
There is never a time when he can trust even those he is close to
For he hides his scars and builds a wall to shut out those who care

He is the friendly yet shy man who you think is always full of sunshine
Little chance is there that he will allow you to see the other side
There is rarely a time when he will allow anyone to see any lingering pain
For he has been taught that showing emotions is nothing but pathetically weak

He is the one who is learning how to cope with the scars of his lonely heart
Little chance is there that he will allow himself to be consumed
There is little chance that anyone knows him better than the one and only me
For he will never deny the fact the he is and always will be ordinary me
