Impressions and Reflections - 14. Poem 14: Valley of Misery
Valley of Misery
They believe I am happy when I’m dead inside.
Nothing I can do will make me feel whole again.
I am in a state of never ending pain and misery.
What choice do I have but suffer in continuity?
They believe all is well for me in my life of dread.
Nothing I can say will make them believe it not true.
I am in a pit on the edge of suffering a terrible fate.
What choice do I have but to inexpressibly suffer?
They believe I will always endure the mundane.
Nothing I can do will make me believe in my future.
I am in a boundless cycle of suffering great defeat.
What choice do I have but to believe in my doom?
They believe depression is something I can kill.
Nothing I can do seems to make pain leave forever.
I am in a valley with jagged cliffs to trap me inside.
What choice do I have but to stay in infinite horror?
