Quirky Poesy - 4. Tanka Toys

It's an intriguing poem, and I would love to know the sight that inspired it.

I picture a dolly left out too long and buried by the snow, or maybe the white-plastic eyeball of a mushy teddy bear frozen rock-solid in his 'hibernation' till spring.

Love it! Very vivid; emotionally sad and hopeful too. Like it's all in suspended animation.

I think the child verse prompt is on my mind, so I read it as a toy left out during winter, waiting to be a cherished playtime companion again. Kind of sad, but I hope there will be spring soon.

The forgotten toy cast aside in favor of some new Christmas treasure. Yet after the novelty wears off a return to cherished status.

Nice Mr. Dragon! Sounds like something left outdoors - kinda sad, like its not something loved enough to be rescued.

LOL... a little Toy Story here? So sad what we leave behind as we grow. Our childhood love of favored things... do we impart feelings in these toys before we cruelly forget them as we outgrow the need? Loved this, and again, sorry for missing these... cheers... Gary...

I'll agree with all the reviewers, sad indeed. Yeah we tend to forgot our lovely companions from our childhood. Sad, but lovely poem. I liked it.
