Peter's Probationary Poems - 7. Kiss
Kiss
A token of affection
So natural and free
A moment of connection
For all the world to see
Love is all around us
And boys and girls can show
For no one makes a big fuss
When it makes them glow
A token of affection
So natural and free
Is seen as pure perfection
When it’s John and Marie
No heads are being turned
Nor do they have to fear
Their touches are not spurned
And nobody does sneer
A token of affection
So natural and free
Then why is there objection
When he kisses me?
Our love is just the same
As that of girl and boy
And we will not let shame
Have our love destroy
A token of affection
So natural and free
Should meet with no rejection
So please, my love, kiss me.
