Re-Verse - 4. Heatwave
On a day of revoltingly hot temperatures but virtually no sun, these came to mind during a city commute.
Breathing
Recommended
Only if desperate -
Heat, fumes, dust, smog, such a fragrant
Bouquet
Noxious
Vapours catching in throat and lungs
Nitrogen oxide for
All, free of charge
For now
~
Thirsty
Plants droop, gasping
Exhausted, trying to
Survive, desperately waiting
For rain
~
I'm sat in a sauna,
Sweating but still fully clothed.
This heat does not cleanse; this steam
Of sweat, fumes, fast food and people
Makes my head ache and my temper flare.
Sunlight stokes my sauna’s furnace
Until a new high is reached.
I drip, self-marinating,
As I come to the boil.
Please leave a comment - I love them and always reply.
