Awesome, northie. You put me back to those times when I was stuck on a bumper to bumper highway for my own commute, with no air conditioning... and to those times I had to ride the buses and subway... thank god that suffering is over... you paint the uncomfortable stresses and tensions... exasperation... perfectly. You describe the last concert I had to manage; the bus ride I took from university home decades ago; many, many hot summer nights. You capture the essence of dirty and fume filled August airports, and the dog days of summer. Wonderfully, eloquently put.

Thanks, Gary. Only working part-time now, commuting every day is something I don't miss one little bit ...

Glad you enjoyed them, Val. Work, fortunately, was quite bearable - unlike our old building where we would've been a puddle. Cool is definitely better than hot.

What I like best here is how you painted the image of a suffocatingly hot summer with words like exhausting, thirsty, gasping, sitting on sauna, steam, fumes etc

N the horrific traffic,  the polluted air coming for free!

Very well written...totally gives me the feel!!
