Although they're all good for anything from a chuckle to a guffaw, the abysmal ignorance shown by some approaches the horrifying. BTW, contrary to rumor, hobbits do not taste like chicken. more like groundhog, but less greasy. Yum.

"The NBA has the top basketball players, such as MJ, KOBE, LBJ." - Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James? Really would have been easier to just spell it out. Ha ha

Lyndon Baines Johnson is the main public person who's gone by the initials LBJ in the last 100 years.  Followed by his wife, Lady Byrd, and their daughters, Linda and Lucie.

As for the other comment:  it's scary to consider a Hobbit tasting.  And what wine?

Yes, and MJ is usually short for Mary Jane

or marijuana and KOBE clearly isn’t initials at all, but a first name. I think the writer had wires crossed on a few counts.

Well, yes:  crossed wires seems to be the nature of these students.  Or they're just doing it to amuse me.

What's the age of the students who wrote these? 

Most of them are college students.

This grouping is an excellent one to show how many, many of these are errors are introduced by Apple's aggressive but dumb autocorrect. I'm sure mistakes like "the light bull," 

"Mama Lisa," the great artist "Vertigo," Voltaire's book "candid" are all due to iPhones and Macs. Naturally, that does not absolve the student from reviewing his or her work before submitting.

But to me the larger question is, Apple's autocorrect is the world's largest, currently active rollout of artificial intelligence, so how can no one see the obvious: introducing AI into computing is the same as introducing human error into computing. God help us if we don't stop it now. Planes will be falling out of the sky.  

Actually, these students don't have access to spelling and grammar check.  These essays are written in a classroom, with no support besides what's in a student's mind.  I don't know if that makes things better or worse.
