Post-Humorously - 15. Chapter 15

I do not eat dogs, but some people eat dogs. I eat octopus, but some people do not eat octopus. I cannot have many wives, but some people can.

The best part about being different from everyone else is the fact that even if you don't succeed you are still the best.

Rejection might not be the worst thing, but if you cannot afford it then it probably is the worst thing.

Decar once said, "I be because I think."

Africulture

Obviously, it’s a ridiculous act to kill a dragon in a toilet.

They will not do stupid things in the class because they have a private place to do that type of thing.

Agriculture is often found on a farm.

This place is so crowdy.

This idea is too rushy.

Nowadays, sex between lazy people is normal.

I can’t write more on this subject because I am limited.

I like a quiaty room to studley.

As Napoleon said, "I will close the box while I do the other one." (not actual phrase).

As Francis Bacon once said, “Student time is a process tolerating no distraction.”

This would agog the predators away.

It has now visually reproducted.

The argument is built on a pile of straw, which is full of holes.

The dissatisfied customers may also antipropogate against the store.

People come to restaurants to cherish themselves.

This behavior is very horror.

Usually, I have an inkling of what is going on in the students' minds, but these two have me stumped:

'Obviously, it’s a ridiculous act to kill a dragon in a toilet.'

and

'Nowadays, sex between lazy people is normal.'

Must have been interesting essays, ha ha.

Often I'm reading along, following what's being said, and a sentence pops out that makes no sense.  Sometimes, like you, I can work out the typo, historical misunderstanding, or simply the mangling of English by a student who's still learning to control the language, but other times, I can't figure it out at all.  Still, it's too funny to pass by.

That was the case of the dragon in the toilet, and the best I could figure, it was meant to be an example of an absurd situation.  The lazy sex was in the context of online hookups and non-relationships between people too lazy to go out and meet people who they'd  actually have to take time to slowly develop mature relationships with.

Interesting. What kind of prompts are these students given? Are they vague, so every student interprets it differently, or specific, and result in a lot of similar essays?

The prompts vary:  some are designed to test analysis, some ability, and some imagination.  Each gives the student about a half-hour, with no outside resources.  The other thing that seems consistent is the fact that a tiny percentage of the students make funny mistakes.

Even for prompts that seem restricted, there seems to be a variety of ways to answer, as long as certain points are mentioned.
