Life's Struggles - 19. Update for you my friends

Hi everybody,

Bare with me as I got some tough news out to you guys. I have only had mere hours to let it sink in myself.

You folks have been like family for years, I thank you for that. When I had my stroke, you guys stood by me. I was hospitalized just two days ago. Yesterday I came home after a bunch of tests. Only today to make phone calls the hospital wanted me to make not knowing what laid in wait.

My first few phone calls went off fairly well, the third one knocked me on my ass, to be honest. After hearing you suffered a major stroke back in August of last year, I didn’t think it could get much worse. Then a month ago found out I had a rare form of heart failure. Back to that third phone call… my Pulmonologist which has been sending me for tests for two months broke some of my most life-shattering news. “Mister Hawk, I know you’re a reasonable man.” Boy, I knew then something was up, and holy hell it was only the beginning. Anyhow the simple abbreviated version, I have a very rare lung condition, like very rare. It’s a life-ending one, but if it reacts to treatment it can be prolonged. That big “IF” I am going back in the hospital next week to decide how to try treating my lungs. Without trying to treat my lungs, coupled with the heart issues they are going to do some testing on it too.

Now onto some thoughts that are bouncing around my head. I’m not always serious but this part is gonna come from the heart. I knowing that I may be living on borrowed time, I ask you folks to remember there are people that need a little kindness, wether it be in kind words or just somebody to lend an ear, maybe even a caring hug. Please try and keep that in mind sometimes even I take life a little too seriously. It’s folks like you guys that may be holding that last simple strand of sanity in place.

@Bndmetl and myself will be working to finish this book out. We had many plans to continue the series on after its completion. However, my life's struggles may have other plans. We will see how it goes.

I honestly thank each of you for the friendships I’ve made and continue to cherish. It may sound quite sappy but love to you all.

Rob, I think one of the great indications of a life lived well is the impact you have made on the lives of others. Look at the comments above and all of the heart felt thoughts from your loyal and loving Readers.

You are a man full of passion, passion that we have been very lucky to have been recipients of through your stories. Use that passion Rob.

It is a reflection of the person you are that you have asked us to think of others when you are facing the challenges that you are.

I wish you nothing but the very best always and all ways.

Kia Kaha Rob! Much love long time from Aotearoa (New Zealand)!

Your writing has brought a lot of joy to me. It is so hard to find quality writing on gay love that isn't all about sex. Thank you for sharing your stories. It got me through some hard times. Good luck with your health and think and surround yourself with positive stuff.
