Light & Dragonflies: Nature Poems/Love Poems - 17. Splurging

.

Auge hängt sein Lächeln nach dem Winde

Sehnsucht schlägt die Hände vor die Stirn

blind tappt Lieben

hellblau tanzt der Tag

Scherze winken

Lockend läuft dein Mund

mir durchs Haar

mit sommerheißen Sohlen

deiner Lippen rote Rosen fallen meinen lahmen

Blicken in den Arm

hasten hertz

die dürren Hände dürsten

Küsse protzen Schenken

wiegen Hüften

fangen Lachen

fassen Weinen

gehn

kehren stürzen

kichernd biegt ihr blendes Kleid

mir in die Hände

The eye hangs his grinning upon the breeze

as desire claps his hands to the brow

blindly tapping love

and the day’s blue dancing

of beckoning jokes

But your mouth’s tempting

passing over my hair

with summer-warmed soles of feet

with the red roses of your lips falling kindly upon

my timid eyes’

hurrying heart

and its dry and slender hands

splurging on giving kisses

for hips swaying lightly

catching laughter

catching crying

moving

in the tumbling sweep

of desire’s dazzling attire

placed into my hands

This is a dazzling poem to sweep me off my feet - or at least set mine to dancing in the sun. Like others in this set, this is a sensory feast. However, it is more plainly human and sensual, and if I close my eyes and listen to the words, I can feel lips falling kindly on my timid eyes’ heart.

Thank you, Parker. I regard Runge as a master of mood and sensuality. It's so very interesting (arresting, really) how he blends internal feelings of love and desire and connection to the broader landscape outside of his corporeal self.

As a poet, I find him very inspiring
