The Seventeenth Summer by Mark 'Ponyboy' Peters

For sixteen year old Danny Anderson life is about to change. School is out and summer is here and hanging with his friends is all he wants to do, but there are some things he just can't share with his best friend, Nate. And then a handsome young stranger, not much older than he is, arrives in town and his world is turned upside down. The summer was now turning into something he could only ever dream of as he begins a journey of self-discovery filled with new adventures and experiences, a new friendship and just a hint of danger.

This story contains adult, sexual content and some violence.  Reader discretion advised.
Set in the 'Thompsonville' universe, 'The Seventeenth Summer' is a part of my Thompson River Tales series. This story was originally published online as 'Sandmen'.

My favourite of all of the stories published on GA by @Mark Ponyboy Peters to date, primarily because it features my favourite character of all the wonderful characters he has gifted we readers with to date, Danny.

Danny is like a most beautiful butterfly, learning to spread his "wings", approaching adulthood with a sense of maturity beyond his years, approaching adulthood after the most joyous surprise in his life to date, Jake. To reveal any more of the storyline will spoil it for those who have not yet had the privilege to read this beautifully written masterpiece, a work with a universal and timeless appeal.

A 5 star rating is simply not enough for this story.

Response from the author:

Awwww ... shucks @Summerabbacat  Thank you so much for your very kind words. And yes, Danny is kind of special! :)
