Loving Fiercely: How I Resist - 11. Chapter 11: We are Creators

Written as an ode to our existence.

Our existence is cosmic

Our being is hypnotic

 

Born from stars and beasts and trees

We shine a radiant glow

 

Life’s beautiful creations

Miracles of circumstance

 

Like the lighthouses at night

We guide our own history

 

Toiling the land, hands in dirt

Seekers of growth, giving birth

 

We swim oceans, climb mountains

Carrying the world on shoulders

 

Some are destined to destroy

Making discord in their path

 

Guide the souls that lost their way

We do not live to be cruel

 

Carry on with your sisters

Carry on with your brothers

 

Cherish your beautiful gift

For we are the creators

First a technical note: I'm so happy you created all the lines at an even seven syllables. The flow is so nice, and I hope you agree, adds gravity to your message. Well done on the discipline to achieve this.

 

On the message, it's fantastic. I think you have a real scope to your work, and are comfortable taking the reader on something like a world tour. I really appreciate that. Thanks for posting this :)

I'm very forgetful about writing my replies! I was gonna say thanks haha. Yeah, I've noticed how using syllables can create a good flow to my pieces. I enjoy poetry more when I'm mindful of these things, and yes, it adds to the message!
