If you're looking for a story with a little romance, a little intrigue, and more than a few twists and turns, then you should check out this short story.  Before you read it, however, I will leave you with one thought, a quote from Sir Walter Scott.  "What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive."  I won't tell you any more than that, but I think it will all become clear by the time you finish reading this short story - not once, but multiple times.

I'm giving this one a re-read after this year's event. There's a beginning, middle, and happy ending.  Just try not to read too fast or you'll start seeing things that didn't really happen.

Why aren't there more stars? I won't say too much to not give away any plot points. But this one definitely pulled at my heart strings. You'll see what I mean after you finish it and read my comments. A truly heartwarming story.

Finish the reviews quickly and get to reading. You won't be disappointed.

A skillfully-written piece covering a few decades but without the jerkiness of some efforts to put so much time into one chapter.  It is seamless.  Thoroughly enjoyable ready and, who knows, you may be crying, laughing, or smiling by the end.  Or all three!

Now knowing its author when I read it, I am even more impressed.  I had thought this was by Mark Arbour and that it showed all his skills.. You are in good company @chris191070  well done!!!!!
