I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

 

It's about love, loss, and pain with a lot of humor mixed in.

 

The story centers around Jody, who's invited to his ex-boyfriend's engagement party, celebrating his upcoming marriage to Kate. Jody hasn't dealt with the breakup well at all; it's been a year and he's still hung up on his ex, Richard.

 

Throw a few friends into the mix, a gun, a few punches, some sex on the beach, and you've got yourself a great story to read! :)

Jody and Richard have been a gay couple for quite a while, but then Richard leaves him for a woman.  Jody is emotionally and mentally fixated on how the relationship ended and is having a lot of trouble dealing with the breakup.  

To his surprise, Jody gets an invitation to attend Richard's bachelor party, which is being held on Halloween, and Jody decides to attend.  As you might expect, the atmosphere is tense at the bachelor party, but you might be surprised by what happens next.  The mood there gets really tense, but the story ends on a hopeful note, so read this unusual and emotionally tense short story to see what happens next.
