About this story

“Buck, there are Sundays at Augusta that test a golfer, and then there are Sundays that reveal him. Tim Orszulak has absorbed every ounce of pressure this championship can offer and, to this point, he has not blinked. He did not merely survive yesterday...he announced himself. Here is a nineteen-year-old college student sharing today's leaderboard with some of the best golfers in the world. Today, we find out whether that was the beginning of a story, or the end of a dream.”

While this is a story about a golfing tournament, there is some conflict at the end.

I found @drsawzall's telling of this story to be both riveting and suspenseful, both in the narration surrounding the action at Masters, and action surrounding another situation, which some characters consider an unforgivable flaw.  This uproar was most likely the result of questionable comments made by another golfer, Larry Duggan, but we also know about other's who feel the same way he does.  We're just waiting for the other shoe to fall.

Even if you're not a golfer or interested in the sport, I believe you'll get caught up in the suspense and intrigue and won't be able to stop reading.

Golf holds no appeal for me whatsoever, but that mattered nought.

A superbly written story by @drsawzall, which one has come to expect from him.

A very small cast of characters, all wholly believable, and an interesting sub-plot make for a thoroughly enjoyable read.

This story, in a very good way, reminds me of a summary I saw of one of the first silent movies to use multiple camera cutaway techniques to build suspense.  The old movie showed things happening away from the major characters which eventually would greatly impact the characters.  It was said that the movie audiences, not used to that technique now widely used, gasped at what was happening away from the knowledge of the main characters.

This story is like that, in that we are aware, but the golfer is not, of what else is happening.  A very good read, and suspenseful.
