Boxed In: A Christmas Story

   (4 reviews)
Sub-genres: Drama, General Romance

It's two days before Christmas, and things aren't going to plan. Rory has been boxed in to a trying situation, and the vicious weather only makes it worse. Can he survive both the storm and the homophobic Clint?

For this Special Anthology story, I used the Blizzard theme, and threw in a little Christmas for good measure. I can see revisiting these two someday. Let me know what you think smile.png  .

If you want a great, joy of Christmas story, this is it!  Both Rory and Clint have boxed themselves in their own boxes to protect themselves from past disappointments.  These boxes isolate them from others.  They are still happily in a box at the end of the story. Sorry for laughing at my own humour.  You will just have to find out yourselves.  I would like to suggest some Christmas music in the background as your read this fun story.  Please make sure you include "Jingle Bells".  Don't worry, the author will give you a cue for when to start this particular song.  The story starts at a low point, but quickly will enchant you and leave you laughing, loving and in a great mood for the Christmas season.

Response from the author:

Thanks, raven! This is really wonderful, and I hope your enthusiastic review will help readers find and give this Christmas offering a chance. I always think Of Rory and Clint this time of year. Cheers!

Oh, the joys of misunderstandings :gikkle:

Clint wants to talk to Rory but doesn't know what to say, and Rory thinks Clint's silence means Clint doesn't like him, mostly because he's gay.

When the truth is revealed the men are left astounded by how wrong their assumptions about each other were.

As usual an entertaining read

Boxed In: A Christmas Story introduces the reader to Clint, a big, burly, seemingly broodish, aloof man who, by all appearances, does not play well with others, and Rory, a younger man who is confused not only by his co-worker but also by his own feelings as well. Stuck together in a snowstorm, will they finally find a way to communicate?

Response from the author:

This one was fun, V. I wrote three entries for the anthology that year, and it felt like I lived this story. I loved these characters who were put to a true test. Will they pass it? Readers will have to check it out to find out. :)  Thank you so much for this review, friend. Hopefully, it will stir up some new interest. Cheers!

If you like unusual Christmas stories and Romances that are unconventional, contain many surprises, and that leave you feeling good, then this superb short story if for you.  And by the time you finish reading it, not only will you have an entirely new perspective about blizzards, but you'll find yourself singing "Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!"

Response from the author:

What a great recommendation. Thank you, Bill! I love this Christmas tale, and I hope more readers find it. Cheers!
