I only give this story four stars, because I think it deserves more attention. Setup and location are good and the idea is solid. However, the side story with the missing campers doesn't really contribute anything emotionally and the way Rowan and Ethan talk seems a bit off for teenagers. All in all, an enjoyable read and I hope this story gets extended.

Response from the author:

Jack, thank you for the thoughtful feedback. I'll keep it in mind in the future.  I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

This is a story about two young men who had been close friends when they were younger, but the divorce of one set of parents caused that boy to move away with his mother.  They are now back together again, sparking old feelings, and an emergency about lost campers has joined them together in the search.

This is an interesting beginning to the story and it's an easy and enjoyable read, but several more chapters are need to explain the many unanswered questions that have been raised.  Do yourself a favor and check out this story.

The story is fascinating, but feels like much more could follow,  Several sequel chapters would clear up a few points that seem a bit fuzzy.

Sometimes friendship can become much more, and at the same time generate more mystery as more is learned about another person.  I recommend this.

Response from the author:

Paul, thanks for reading and reviewing! I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

A very nice short story with elements of mystery and desire. Set in the Adirondacks of New York.

A nice set of characters to get to know as you sit by the fire on a chilly night.

Definitely worth the read!

We have Rowan, reunited with a childhood friend to help search for some missing campers on Pine Ridge.

There is much more to this story, but I can’t say anything else without revealing to much.

All I can say is give this wonderful story a read.
