Tiger's Book of poetry - 15. Poem 15: Climbing into the Light

Climbing into the light is what I must do

For darkness only imprisons me in a self-made prison

The sun replenishes my spirit and makes me feel alive

I no longer want to carry the burdens of anger and pain

Climbing into the light allows me to dream again

For darkness robs me of all hope and leads to misery

The sun lifts my spirits and the dark clouds disappear

I no longer will allow myself to fall into despair

Climbing into the light sets me free and restores me

For darkness is the path of endless hardship and strife

The sun is the ever-shining light of providence abounding

I no longer want to focus on the great suffering of the past

Climbing into the light will make you feel alive again

For darkness has only imprisoned you and made you wish for death

The sun can restore your spirit and bring hope into your life

I no longer want to see you suffer the pain I know so well

Climbing into the light because you want to live a better life

For darkness is no longer the ominous path you can take

The sun will guide you to a better way of thinking

I no longer want to see you falling into the abyss of agony

Climbing into the light will lead to salvation of the masses

For darkness leads to only to a world full of death and destruction

The sun is the omnipotent beacon of light for all to see

I no longer want to watch as children suffer the fates of war
