Tiger's Book of poetry - 9. Poem 9: Let It Be

Let the light shine upon me

Let it reveal the answers I seek

Let me find peace in the shadow of uncertainty

I need to be free of the pain and doubt

Let the world know that I am not a lost cause

Let it be known that I have a heart

Let me prove myself worthy

I need to feel better about the road ahead

Let the people know I am not a statistic

Let it be that I can be affirmed in who I am

Let me find affirmation in a world that does not get me

I need to have a place in the world

Let the world see me for who I really am

Let it be that my light shines throughout the world

Let me see a world where I feel joyful

I need to rid myself of the demons that haunt me

Let the beacon of light guide me into providence

Let it be known that I seek great wisdom

Let me be the best that I can be

I need asseveration that I am worthy of love and respect

Let the world be a better place to dwell within

Let it be a great place for our progeny to grow into

Let me help others to become better people

I need to help others to feel worthy of life

Let the people be independent of the thought police

Let it be written that free thinking is most prudent

Let me rise above petty inclinations of foolishness

I need to be clarified of all that is deceitful and harmful

Let the time I have left be full of happiness and not sorrow

Let it be the kind of life full of hope and jubilation

Let me find what I seek to make me a better being

I need to live a better life where sadness haunts me no longer
