Tiger's Book of poetry - 8. Poem 8: Living in a World
Living in a world full of suffering
I wonder if anyone cares enough to fight
Those who preach hate mislead the masses
Through the gates of hell they should go
Living in a world and feeling insecure
I wonder if I will make an affirmative impact
Those who need me I cannot let down through my weakness
Through life I can only make the most of opportunity
Living in a world in need of spiritual growth
I wonder if peace will ever flood the earth
Those who kill mercilessly and care only about money
Through their tyranny they make the world unbearable
Living in a world where people suffer greatly
I wonder if humanity will survive its own selfishness
Those who are silent help others die sooner
Through their self-absorption pestilence persists
Living in a world where blood is spilled ad infinitum
I wonder if we are better than Hitler and Mao
Those who wage war for financial gain
Through their villainy I hope they rot in hell
Living in a world where hope is a pipe dream
I wonder if the sky will fall upon us
Those who pollute this great planet obliviously
Through their idiocy we may all suffer more famine
Living in a world where delicate life exists
I wonder if our impact will make it wither away
Those who lead us into considerable peril
Through their carelessness they make survival improbable
