Yup. It’s possible. Though this is a heavily refined version.

Just reading the first few lines reminded me. I loved the story! Thanks for it!

If I say I’m enjoying this story because of the ethical issues it raises, it’ll give people the wrong impression. If I mention that I can identify with Troy being homeless (although he’s living in his van), it’ll make people think that’s all it's about. If I say that I’d never be like Grant moving from wonderful California to icy Vermont, they’ll focus on their dislike of my state. But If I don’t say any of those things, they’ll get the impression that they’ll be meeting characters named Ash and Ember!

I’m really enjoying this story. It’s well written. It’s well edited (such a bonus with a lot of gay fiction). The characters are well-fleshed out. I can’t wait for the next chapter.

The depth of emotion in your stories is so vivid and real, it has repeatedly taken my breath away and left me in tears, both of joy and sometimes of sadness. I've been a reader on here for a few of years now, and have enjoyed many stories by a number of authors, but this is the first time I felt compelled to post a comment. I've read three of your wonderful stories now, and can't wait to read the rest.

Thank you for writing such full and rounded characters, each of whom I have connected with so deeply. Their lives and loves are addictive, and such a joy to read.

I am long overdue, replying to this one! Thanks for the great comments, Hugsly. I appreciate them. My apologies for taking so long to let you know it!

As for adding to the story of Troy and Grant, I don't know. I mean, I'm open to it if they speak to me of a new adventure they'd like to take. If that happens, I'll dive back in.

I need everything I write to feel possible within the world I'm writing. That means characters who are flawed, emotional, and as real as I can get them. I want readers to read along, maybe not agreeing with them, but understanding why the character is making the choice they made. That's what I want. I'm glad I hit the mark, in at least some of those for you.

Thanks again for commenting. It does mean a lot to authors to get that feedback, and I'd encourage you to continue sharing when something really grabs you. You never know ... you may be the reason someone writes another story. 🙂
